Frances Arlyne Mihlbauer
Frances Arlyne Mihlbauer, 83, departed this life for her home in Heaven, Monday, December 2, 2019 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV after being surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born April 19, 1936 in Pennsboro, WV daughter of the late Orlan “Hadsel” and Lenora Davis Rowe.
She was a 1954 graduate of Pennsboro High School where she was member of the band and 4-H. It was there that she met the love of her life, who she married 3 months after graduation. She worked for Hills Department Store where she retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Builder’s Class and was an integral part of the of a group of women that raised funds to refurbish the cross in front of the Church. She loved to scrapbook and had created scrapbooks for each of her grandchildren. She was also an avid sender of cards, she religiously sent cards to friends and family for every occasion, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. – a slow month was over 20 cards. She never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader.
She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Andy) Rawson, Melissa Hackney, and Kathy (Mike) Kelley; grandchildren, David (Cindy) Rawson, Lisa (Darron) Hall, Todd Noland, Gary “Ponch” (Leslie) Hackney Jr., Chris (Jessica) Hackney, Leah (Aaron) Gillespie, Carissa (Charlie) Dotson, Erin Kelley, and Gabrielle (Dakota) Farley; her great-grandchildren, Jaedyn Rawson, Carter Hall, Baylee Hall, Alexandria “Lexie” Hackney, Kenna Hackney, Christopher “CJ” Hackney, Caleb “Ty” Hackney, Jaxson Gillespie, Isabella Dotson, and Ada Farley; siblings, Russel “Keith” Rowe, Robert Rowe, Janice Williamson, Jeanette McCullough, and Betty Jean Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart Harry “Jake” Mihlbauer; her parents; and her son-in-law Gary Hackney Sr.
Visitation will be from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 on Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
The funeral service will be 11 am Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
