Shelia K. Dye

Shelia K. Dye, 73, of Belpre, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 1, 2019 after a very short illness.

She was born on July 19th, 1946 in Hamden, Ohio to the late Pearl E. and Marjorie Hamilton Ward. She graduated from Vinton Count High School in 1964 and moved to Canton, Ohio. She was married on December 27, 1968 and was a homemaker for many years until she rejoined the workforce after her girls went to school. She retired from Louise’s Figurama and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters Heather (Wayne) Stanley and Michelle (Jim) Stout; her grandchildren Kaisha, Mason, Robert “Clayton” and Coleman Stanley, Regan and KayLynn Stout; great granddaughter Rilya Stout; her sister Patricia Fetherolf; sister-in-law Barb Ward; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom Ward, her brother-in-law John Fetherolf and her husband of 50 years, Delbert Clayton “Bud” Dye, losing him to cancer on January 23rd of this year.

Shelia loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved her family and family reunions. She was a member of Vienna Baptist Church and loved her church, her church family, and her bible study girls. After her cancer diagnosis in May, she would often say that the Good Lord would either heal her or call her home and she considered herself a winner either way.

Our family would like again to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley, Amedisys Hospice and the Strecker Cancer Center for their care.
