G. Rex Currey
G. Rex Currey, 79, of Parkersburg, passed away May 26, 2019.
He was born in Parkersburg the son of the late Earl C. and Samantha Conger Currey.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He had worked several jobs over the years and had retired from Quaker State Oil Refining Co. He was a member of the Parkersburg American Legion Post #15 and the D.A.V. Post #1212. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and feeding birds, cats and whatever animals that came his way. He enjoyed western books and enjoyed his property near the Wayne National Forest where he cleared and had planted trees and was a very talented carpenter. He was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.
He is survived by his sister, Louise F. Vaught (Frank); His nieces, Ruth E. Bradley (Jerald) and Sue A. Campbell (Ray) all of Parkersburg. Several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Helen V. Gwynn and her husband Howard E.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00pm at the Independence Cemetery at Ravenswood, WV.
