Winston Anderson, 80, of Mineral Wells, WV died Tuesday March 12, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Winston “Andy” and Annette (Peterson) Anderson.
He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and received his bachelors from Miami University (Ohio); where he met the love of his life. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served in Korea. After retiring from Kardex, he was a member of the Blennerhassett Historical Foundation, Friends of Blennerhassett, and served on the Board of the Blennerhassett Museum. He enjoyed volunteering on Blennerhassett Island and joining his golf buddies for a round of golf. He especially loved his grandson, Brady playing with him, listening to him play the violin or watching him play tennis, soccer or basketball.
He is survived by two sons Brian Anderson (fiance Yesica Ramos) of Tucson, AZ and Doug Anderson (Kelly) of Williamstown; grandson Brady Anderson; brother David Anderson; three sisters Jeanne Grubb (Gene), Dianne Hunt (Robert), and Kathy Cook (Leroy); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life Mary Dianne Anderson.
Services will be Sunday 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with military honors by American Legion Post 15. Inurnment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday one hour prior to the service.
