Kenneth L. Godfrey Sr.

Kenneth L. Godfrey Sr., age 84, of the Lynn Camp Community near Pullman, WV, passed away on April 3rd, 2018 in the early hours of the morning. He was born February 7, 1934 to Foster Snow Godfrey and Lettie Mae (Yeager) Godfrey at Bower, WV in Braxton County.

Mr. Godfrey was a veteran of the US Navy from August through December of 1954. He spent his life as a hard working farmer and laborer. He had worked in National Electric wire plant of Ambridge, PA, Colonial Steel in Monaco, PA, worked for Goff Bros. moving houses, Ames shovel plant in Parkersburg, WV, B&O Railroad, Stalnaker Drilling, Dept of Highways in Ellenboro, WV, for Laborer’s Local #984 out of Clarksburg, WV, and for Kenton Meadows Pipe Line. He was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed hunting, riding his 4wheeler and tractor, being a farmer, and he simply never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith Mae Godfrey; 1 son, Kenneth L. Godfrey, Jr. (Veronica) of Flemington, WV; 2 daughters, Kathryn E. Stutler (Greg) of Clay, WV and Gail L. Jameson (Don) of Cairo, WV; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Stutler (Brittany), Michelle Klimas (Graig), Cheryl Frazier, Theresa Hartness, Christina Smith (Chase), Stephen Godfrey (Elizabeth), Jessica Hager (Kyle), and Matthew Cottrill; 1 sister, Marlene Caldwell of Spencer, WV; 13 great grandchildren, 1 surrogate granddaughter, Kenda Godfrey, and 3 surrogate great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son, Randall Stephen Godfrey, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be 2 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Pullman ,WV. Visitation will be from 4 pm – 8 pm on Friday, at the funeral home.
