Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Atkinson

Elizabeth “Libby” Atkinson, 84, of Vincent, Ohio died at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.

She was born in Ellenboro, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Charles and Edith Barber Elder. She was a long time member of the Porterfield Baptist Church where she had been a member of the Master’s Helper Class, had been a BYF Youth leader with her husband John, and was church treasurer for several years.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, John Atkinson; two sons, Stephen (Dorothy) Atkinson of Vincent, Ohio, Randy (Teresa) Atkinson of Vincent, Ohio; four grandchldren, Gina (Brian) Meredith, Justin Atkinson, Jill Flinn, Joy (Terry) Bunner; three great grandchldren; two great great grandchildren; three brothers, Bill (Geraldine) Elder, Ray (June) Elder, Ben (Ruth) Elder; two sisters, Karen (Bert) Allen, Sue (Harry) Buck, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donetta Chambers.

Services will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m.
