MARIETTA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports July 15:

* On July 8, Deputy Hall responded to 4702 Milner Road, Waterford. An employee of Heritage Co-Op Feed Store reported cash and an Apple IPad were stolen from the business. During the course of this investigation, shoe impressions were recovered from the scene. On July 12, detectives interviewed a subject who was seen passing a check which was stolen from Sherlock Oil, State Route 60, Beverly, in a July 2 break-in at that location. Robert Wells was interviewed and detectives observed that the shoes he was wearing matched the pattern of the shoe print at both Heritage Co-Op and Sherlock Oil. When confronted about the evidence against him, Wells admitted to the break-in at both businesses. Robert Justin Wells, 37, 3491 E. State Route 60, McConnelsville, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. Wells was charged with two counts of breaking and entering.

* On July 10, Deputy Zide was patrolling Interstate 77 when he observed a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted and Deputy Zide met with the driver, Clinton Greenwood. He was found to have an out-of-state suspension from Texas. Deputy Zide deployed K9 Rita, getting a positive indication on the front passenger door. A search revealed a multitude of marijuana paraphernalia and open and unopen beer. Deputy Zide requested Greenwood submitted to field sobriety, in which he performed poorly. Greenwood admitted to consuming alcohol just prior and using marijuana. Deputy Zide placed Clinton Shane Greenwood, 51, 2118 Blueberry Pasadena, Texas, under arrest for OVI, driving under suspension, and turn and stop signals. Greenwood was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* On July 11, Deputy Young responded to 210 Longacre Street, Marietta, to a call from Rebecca Hale stating she had been assaulted. Rebecca stated she had a conversation with Morgan Hale which turned into an argument on the front porch of the home. Rebecca stated that Morgan pushed her, and began to punch her in the face. The two then struggled and both fell on a bench, and then separated. Rebecca stated a short time later as she was in the street out front of the residence and her and Morgan began to argue again, with Morgan coming towards her. Rebecca stated she kicked at Morgan to keep her away, however Morgan grabbed Rebecca by the hair and punched her in the face. Rebecca stated she grabbed Morgan by the shirt and tore the shirt, and Morgan then left the area. Deputy Young made attempts to locate Morgan Hale, with her meeting with Deputy Young later in Beverly. Morgan admitted to being in an altercation with Rebecca, stating she was in fear of Rebecca and only punched her to defend herself. Deputy Young placed Morgan McKenzie Hale, 22, 210 Longacre Street, Marietta, under arrest for domestic violence. Hale was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* On July 13, Deputy Schwendeman responded to Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, in reference to a juvenile being assaulted by Julie Finch. Deputy Schwendeman met with the victim and other individuals that witnessed the incident, who were outside playing. Deputy Schwendeman was advised that while playing the juvenile was struck by another juvenile in which they then called the juvenile a derogatory name. At this time Finch came after them with a flexible plastic tube and swung it at them, striking them on the left arm and left side of the torso. Red welts were observed on the juvenile victim in those areas. Finch denied striking the juvenile, stating the juvenile struck her with the plastic tube. Julie L. Finch, 42, 1308 Williamson Avenue, Apt. 8D, New Matamoras, was advised that a summons would be requested for her on a charge of assault.

* On July 13, Deputy Schwendeman responded to 519 Ingram Road, Newport, in reference to Sherry Rhodes reporting a debit card, which belonged to her husband, James Rhodes Sr., was stolen and several unauthorized transactions were made using it. Sherry stated that her son, James D. Rhodes Jr., went to their residence on the evening of July 12 in order to borrow some money, and she believed he may be responsible for this theft. Through investigation Deputy Schwendeman learned that James Rhodes Jr. had in fact used the stolen debit card at Go Mart. Deputy Schwendeman met with Rhodes at the Sheriff’s Office. Rhodes admitted to taking the card when he was at his parent’s home, and making transactions without permission. Rhodes was advised he was going to be placed under arrest. Rhodes had in his possession a small orange tube with glass pipe containing crystalline residue, along with a cellophane baggie containing marijuana. James Dennis Rhodes Jr., 43, 425 County House Lane, Marietta, was placed under arrest for two counts of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug marijuana. Rhodes was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* Brian Keith McKinney, 33, 408 Gallagher Street, St. Marys, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

* Shawntae Nicole Cline, 30, Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

* Uriah Matthew Hill, 43, homeless, obstructing official business, theft and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.

* Shon Rona Gates, 48, 46010 Miller Road, Pomeroy, contempt failure to appear and probation violation, a misdemeanor.

* Alex Blake Johnson, 30, 3000 23rd Street, Parkersburg, possessing drug abuse instruments, possession of marijuana, possessing drug abuse instruments, obstructing official business, resisting and probation violation, all misdemeanors.

* Charles Stanley Fox II, 48, possessing drug abuse instruments, breach of recognizance, drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

* James Dennis Rhodes, 43, 425 County House Lane, Marietta, two counts theft, both felonies, drug paraphernalia and possession of drug marijuana, both misdemeanors.

* Ross Lester Phillips III, 32, of Lower Salem, domestic violence, disorderly conduct and driving under suspension, all misdemeanors.

* John Aaron Givens, 38, 207 Aurora Street, Marietta, obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.

* Austin William Wright, 29, 1045 Sandhill Road, Apt. 22, Marietta, probation violation, a felony, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and driving under suspension, all misdemeanors.

MARIETTA — Washington County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports on July 18:

July 17

* Deputy Brown responded to State Route 60, Beverly, Ohio, to assist with a traffic stop. Detectives had observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic top on a Jeep driven by Todd D. Plum. Plum had advised that he had consumed one beer; however, he told another deputy that he consumed 12. Deputy Brown detected an odor of alcoholic beverage(s) about his person. Plum’s eyes were glassy and his speech was slurred. Plum advised he had consumed one beer at a friend’s house earlier. A mug was observed in the cup holder and upon asking Plum what the contents were he stated Icehouse beer. Deputy also observed an unopened Icehouse beer on the passenger floorboard. Plum submitted to field sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. Plum was again asked how many beers he had consumed and he stated probably a six-pack. Todd Plum, 57, 1240 SW McCoy Ridge Road, Stockport, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail. Plum submitted to a blood alcohol breath test with the result of .143 BAC. Plum was charged with OVI and driving in marked lanes.

* Deputy A. McConnell was patrolling the area of Joe Skinner Road and State Route 7 and observed a possible disabled vehicle. Adam Hadley was outside the running vehicle, accompanied by a passenger, Destiny Covey, located in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Adam advised he had pulled over due to vehicle issues. While speaking with Hadley, Deputy McConnell noted darting eye contact and fidgety movements. Hadley was also observed trying to conceal a piece of paper, which was eventually turned over to deputies, revealing that it contained an unknown white powdery substance. Deputy Zide arrived to conduct standardized field sobriety tests with Hadley in which he performed these poorly. A search of the vehicle was conducted which revealed drug paraphernalia and multiple syringes admittedly belonging to Destiny Covey. Adam Hadley, 30, 101 Sunset Drive, Marietta, was placed under arrest on a charge of having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence. Destiny Renee Covey, 26, 101 Sunset Drive, Marietta, was placed under arrest for possessing drug abuse instruments. Both subjects were transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* Michael Smith reported to Deputy McKee that he was involved in an argument with his adult son, Jeremiah Smith, while driving on State Route 339. Michael reports Jeremiah yelling at him stating “I should have killed you,” all the while shaking his fist at him. Michael reported trying to drive and believed Jeremiah was going to hurt him or cause him to wreck. Attempts to locate Jeremiah met with negative results. A warrant is being requested for Jeremiah M. Smith, 39, 3034 State Route 339, Vincent, on a charge of domestic violence.

July 18

* Michael Reynolds of Reynolds Landscaping, 323 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, reported a 2008 Chevy 2500 4–4 truck removed from the property. This case remains under investigation.

* Lorena Ann Smith, 41, 1154 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, burglary and breach of recognizance, both felonies.

* David Andrew Midcap, 53, 2318 19th St., Akron, contempt, failure to appear, a felony.

* Arthur Ray Elkins Jr., 28, 7711 Dorver Ave., Cleveland, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

* Todd David Plum, 57, 1240 South McCoy Ridge Road, Stockport, OVI, a misdemeanor.

* Adam Joseph Hadley, 30, 101 Sunset Drive, Marietta, having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence.
