Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — On Feb. 17 the Washington County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports:

Feb. 16

* Deputies, along with the Reno Volunteer Squad, were dispatched to 122 Tennis Center Drive, Marietta, in reference to an unresponsive male. This case remains under investigation.

* Deputy Hall responded to 5255 Ohio 339, Vincent, in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, Hall spoke with victim, Shelby Todd. Shelby stated she and her husband Destry had been arguing all day, and she told him she wanted a break. Shelby stated Destry gave her and their child a ride to Hickory Grove Convenience Store and as Shelby was unbuckling the baby from his car seat, Destry slapped the left side of her face with his right hand. Shelby had visible red/blue discoloration marks on her left cheek. Shelby stated that she was in fear for her safety. Shelby stated that Destry told her if she leaves him it would be in a body bag. Deputy Hall was able to obtain statements from two other witnesses that Destry slapped Shelby in the face. Hall arrested Destry Todd, 26, 2195 Layman Road, Vincent, Ohio, for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Feb. 17

* Deputy Hall, while on patrol in Warren Township, located a parked and unlocked vehicle with a set of keys, a wallet, along with cash, sitting on the console of the vehicle. Several attempts were made to contact the owner of the vehicle with no result. Hall inventoried the keys, wallet and contents inside the wallet at the Sheriff’s Office for safekeeping. Further attempts will be made to notify the owner of the vehicle.

* Deputies were dispatched to Par-Mar at 8600 Ohio 339, Barlow, in reference to Melinda Tyler, store manager, calling in advising she had a shoplifter earlier that morning and had video evidence. Upon arrival, deputies were able to identify the juvenile through the video, and observed the subject grab a food item and put it in his/her pocket and walk out of the store. Tyler stated she did not want to prosecute, but wanted the juvenile talked to regarding the incident.

* Deputy Zide was dispatched to the Career Center at 21740 Ohio 676, Marietta, in regard to an accident property being reported. At the front of the Washington County Career Center, a school bus was parked in the bus lane. The driver of a pickup truck, Ronald Goddard, was parked behind the bus to drop off a child for school. After the child exited the vehicle, Goddard attempted to pull out from behind the bus and attempted to pass if on the left side of the bus. Goddard did not pull out far enough, causing the passenger side of the rear truck bed to strike the left back side of the bus. There were no children on the bus at the time of the incident.

The following warrants were processed at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

* Steven Sealey, 1660 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, Ohio, for failure to appear.

* Bernard T. Delancy, 27927 Huckelberry Road, Coolville, Ohio, for failure to appear. Original charge was driving under suspension.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Thursday and Friday:

Feb. 16

* Rhonda Deann Clark, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for failure to reinstate operator’s license, a misdemeanor. Clark was arrested on Harmar Street by Deputy Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the jail at 2:05 p.m.

* Tanner John Smith, (TJ), 21, 901 Cisler Lane, Marietta, for failure to comply order/signal, drug possession, both felonies, and another charge of drug possession. Smith was arrested by Trooper Quattlebaum of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the jail at 6:55 p.m.

* Destry Shane Todd, 26, 2195 Layman Road, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Todd was arrested at his residence by Deputy Hall of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the jail at 8:27p.m.

* Kelly Jane Farnsworth, 28, 122 Harmar St., Marietta, for failure to appear. Farnsworth was arrested on Harmar Street by Patrolman Giffin of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the jail at 10:27 p.m.

* Felicia Dawn Wallace, 26, 105 Leland Ave., Marietta, on warrants for theft and probation violation, both misdemeanors. Wallace was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Surry of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the jail at 10:44 p.m.

Feb. 17

* Brian Denver Hess, 41, Sanjubar Drive, Reno, for drug paraphernalia and drug instruments possession, both misdemeanors. Hess was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Patrolman Giffin of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the jail at 10:43 a.m.
