* George Nicholas Parsons, 42, 373 Rocky Road, Grantsville, W.Va., pleaded guilty to charges of violation of a protective order and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, was sentenced to 24 hours in jail for the violation of a protective order charge and 90 days on jail for the possession charge to be served concurrently and was assessed $595.50 in fines and court fees.

* Deshawna E. Hatcher, 26, 466 E. Maple St., Davisville, was arraigned on four counts of fraudulent use of an access device and was released on a $2,000 bond.

* Kenneth Leroy Cunningham, 62, 1170 46th St., Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense DUI and was released on a $500 bond.

* Russell Dale Clegg, 60, 242 Sharon St., Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to a no seat belt citation and was assessed a $25 fine.

* Katherine Nicole Bragg, 31, 690 Eastwood Road, Ravenswood, pleaded guilty to DUI, was sentenced to time served and was assessed $335.25 in fines and court costs.

* In another magistrate court case, charges of possession of clonazapam and possession of drazepam filed Jan. 30, 2015, against David Patrick Newell, 33, 2508 27th St., Parkersburg, were dismissed May 21 in magistrate court.

Following defense motions to dismiss filed in magistrate court and a hearing in May, Wood County Magistrate Joyce Purkey issued an order May 21 indicating that the court, having heard testimony and arguments of counsel, found the officer did not have an “articulable reasonable suspicion” to stop the defendant and dismissed the case.

PARKERSBURG – The following reports were released May 5 by Wood County Magistrate Court.

* Daniel Curtis Fought, 20, 11 Bradi Drive, Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to a possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance charge, marijuana, was sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended for one year probation and was assessed $160.25 in court fees.

* Dustin Glen Leffel, 33, 97 Middle Road, Waverly, pleaded guilty to a possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance charge, marijuana, was sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended for one year probation and was assessed $160.25 in court fees.

* William Holbert Helmick, 47, 121 W. Fourth 1/2 St., Apt. 4C, Williamstown, pleaded no contest to a DUI charge, was sentenced to three hours served and was assessed $335.25 in fines and court fees.

* Timothy Ray Pierce, 47, 5695 Sycamore Run Road, Washington, W.Va., pleaded no contest to a DUI charge, was sentenced to 11 hours and seven minutes served and was assessed $335.25 in fines and court fees.

* Jeremy Scott Henthorn, 27, 413 E. Eighth St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a disorderly conduct charge and is in custody in lieu of a $500 surety bond.

* John Gearheart III, 41, 1322 20th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to a first-offense shoplifting charge and was assessed $770.25 in fines, restitution and court fees.

* Steven Wayne Rush, 28, 12621 Veto Road, Vincent, Ohio, pleaded guilty to a driving on a suspended or revoked license for miscellaneous reasons charge and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court fees.

* Zoe Oceana Ward, 23, 409B 13th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a second-offense driving on a suspended or revoked license for miscellaneous reasons charge and was assessed $360.25 in fines and court fees.

* Daniel Ray Hickman, 30, 1011 Market St., Apt. 1, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a domestic battery charge and was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Angela Dawn Harrison, 35, 2332 Avery St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of petit larceny, DUI and driving on a suspended or revoked license for DUI and was released on a $4,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Audra Nichole Southland, 33, 1912 30th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of child neglect and was released on a $10,000 bond,

* Tracy Anne Freund, 45, 16471 Aporto St., Lavonia, Mich., pleaded guilty to a speeding citation, 88 mph in a 70 mph zone, and was assessed $180.25 in fines and court fees.

* Henry C. Epp IV, 33, 2215 Berkeley Drive, Westlake, Ohio, pleaded guilty to a speeding citation, 84 mph in 70 mph zone, and was assessed $170.25 in fines and court fees.

* Angela Marie Janssen, 29, 129 Thornberry Hill Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on an insurance charge and was released on a $500 bond.

PARKERSBURG – The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court on May 4:

* Diane Nicole Lott, 27, 1106 Third St., Belpre, was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and third-offense driving under suspension and was released on $3,000 bond.

* Johnnie Lee Durnell, 26, 708 30th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a second-offense driving under suspension charge and was released on $2,000 bond.

* Marshall Ray Drake II, 47, 9829 Southern Highway, Rockport, was arraigned on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct and was released on $600 bond.

* Gregory Lloyd Swisher, 45, 1185 Joe Skinner Road, Belpre, was arraigned on a felony charge of entering without breaking and his bond was set at $50,000.

* James L. Early, 34, 1030 George St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a felony charge of third-offense driving under suspension and was released on $3,000 bond.

* Domnick Hall, 23, 53 Mountain View Lane, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 15 grams and was released on $1,000 bond. Hall pleaded guilty to the charge, was sentenced to six months probation and was assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Megean Marie Negri, 42, 270 Strahler Road, Waterford, pleaded guilty to unlawfully possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, was sentenced to six months in jail suspended for 18 months probation and was assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Chandler Michael Hamilton, 19, 1700 Liberty St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a game violation and was assessed $180.25 in fines and court costs.

PARKERSBURG – The following reports were released April 30 by Wood County Magistrate Court.

* John Delmer Kent II, 45, 480 Turkey Fork Road, Sandyville, pleaded no contest to a citation for no proof of insurance and was assessed $360.25 in fines and court fees.

* Shawn Andrew Staats, 31, 29 Middle Ridge Road, Waverly, was arraigned on a grand larceny charge and was released on a $1,500 bond.

* Michael Jeffrey Brown, 22, 611 Kenner St., Parkersburg, waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and was bound over to circuit court.

* Everett Christopher Freeland, 30, 907 14th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a shoplifting charge and was released on a $1,000 bond.

* Kyle Roger Johnson, 28, 338 Jefferson Drive, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a citation for possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance, marijuana, and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Zachary A. Hale, 25, 1113 Poplar Ave., Belpre, pleaded guilty to a shoplifting charge and was assessed $291.25 in fines and court fees.
