MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 20.

* On May 19, officers responded to 101 Washington St. for a woman refusing to leave her mother’s residence. Officers stood by while the woman got her property and left.

* On May 19, an officer recovered prescription medicine at 230 Faye Ave. that was left behind after a tenant moved out.

* On May 19, an officer spoke with the resident at 128 Harmar St. who advised that a man had run through the back yard of the residence.

* On May 19, an employee of Kmart reported that a male had possibly stolen makeup and fled the area.

* On May 19, an employee of the Ohio Valley Educational Center, 128 E. Eighth St., Cambridge, reported the theft of a Dell laptop computer from a locked file cabinet at 205 Phillips St.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 18 and 19.

* On May 15, Steven C. Satterfield, 42, of 5200 Orchard Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested at headquarters on two warrants from Marietta Municipal Court for failure to appear to serve jail. Satterfield was taken to jail.

* On May 15, officers mediated a neighborhood dispute in the 300 block of Maple Street.

* On May 16, Scott Lee Carpenter, 52 of 415 1/2 Third St., was arrested at that location for disorderly conduct by intoxication and was taken to jail.

* On May 16, officers checked on a disturbance in the 100 block of South Second Street. Two individuals were arguing over the use of a car.

* On May 17, officers checked on a report of a fight at 433 Second St. Officers learned there had been no fight.

* On May 17, officers checked on a disturbance at 708 Front St. The incident was found to be a verbal argument.

* On May 18, Troy Allen Johnson, 18 and homeless, was arrested at 104 Riley Drive and charged with fifth-degree felony breaking and entering. Sometime after midnight this date, Johnson went to Kentucky Fried Chicken, climbed a wall, pried a hasp off an outside freezer, and took chicken strips and cakes from the freezer. The chicken and cakes were recovered at 104 Riley Drive. Johnson admitted he had broken into the freezer and stole the food items, police said. Johnson was taken to jail.

* On May 13, Billy Lynn Ertz II, 44, of 800 Front St. was arrested at 922 Front St. for disorderly conduct by intoxication and was taken to jail.

* On May 11, an officer investigated a theft of checks at Wal-Mart.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 11:

* On May 8, Kenneth Alan Farnsworth, age 54 of 105 Gilman Avenue, was arrested at his home for domestic violence and was taken to jail.

* On May 9, Terry Aldwin Corbin Clifton, 40, Lower Salem, was arrested at the Tiger Stop, 1101 Gilman St., for theft and criminal trespass. Clifton had returned to the Tiger Stop after being instructed not to a few hours earlier and while there stole a pack of Bazooka gum valued at $1. Clifton was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital as he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

* On May 9, Garrett Christopher Lass, 21, 917 33rd St., Parkersburg, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication in the 200 block of Third Street after an officer found him walking in the roadway. Lass was released to his mother.

* On May 9, officers checked on a report of a fight at 112 Front St.

* On May 9, officers investigated an abduction and assault on Acme Street. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, jumped from a vehicle and the suspect drove away. The victim knows the suspect and the investigation continues.

* On May 9, an officer checked on a report of a child riding on a mower in the bed of a pickup truck in the 200 block of Putnam Street. The child was found to be a toy doll.

* On May 9, officers checked on a disturbance at 233 Hillcrest Drive. A female advised her cell phone was damaged during an argument with her boyfriend. The boyfriend had left on officers’ arrival.

* On May 9, an adult female reported a rape occurred earlier in a motel room.

* On May 10, Megan C Roach, 23 of 804 Fourth St., was arrested at the Noble County Jail on two Marietta Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear for pretrial. Roach was taken to jail.

* On May 10, a 35-year-old woman reported she had been raped at a residence in the 700 block of Glendale Road.

* On May 10, David Hansen, 37, 832 Ridge St., was arrested in the 800 block of Ridge Street for disorderly conduct by intoxication and was taken to jail.

* On May 10, officers checked on a disturbance at 708 Washington Square. Two adults were arguing and went their separate ways.

* On May 10, officers checked on a disturbance at 152 Harmar St. A woman left on request.

* On May 10, officers checked on a disturbance at 207 Market St. A woman left on request.

* On May 10, officers checked on an elderly suicidal female in the 400 block of Seventh Street. The female was taken to Marietta Memorial for a mental evaluation.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 7.

* On May 6, officers checked on a possible suicidal male at 710 Front St. The man was found to be OK and was with his mother.

* On May 6, an officer investigated the theft of jewelry from a resident at 117 Bartlett St.

* On May 6, an employee of Apex True Value, 600 Greene St., reported a theft of a Dewalt cordless drill valued at $200.

* On May 6, Billy L Ertz, 44, of 800 Front St., was arrested in the 800 block of Front Street for disorderly conduct by intoxication and a summons for failure to appear. Ertz was taken to jail to sober up.

* On May 7, officers checked on a disturbance at 107 Manchester Drive. An 89-year-old female was having medical issues and was taken to Selby Hospital.

* On May 7, officers checked on a man threatening to jump off the Harmar Train Bridge. The man was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital to be evaluated.

* On May 7, officers checked on a report of two men banging on a door at 1202C County House Lane. Nothing was found on officer’s arrival.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 6.

* On May 5, Jacob Matthew Shaffer, 27, homeless, was arrested at 330 Fourth St. for a theft from Weber’s Grocery that occurred on April 26. During the theft, Shaffer had stolen a bag of cigarette tobacco but returned it when the clerk yelled that she knew who he was. Shaffer told the clerk he wasn’t going to jail over something that minor and then fled the area. Shaffer was taken to jail.

* On May 5, Timmy Lynn Ertz, 42, of 426 Jaqueline Drive, Byesville, Ohio, was arrested in the 100 block of Wooster Street for disorderly conduct by intoxication and was taken to jail.

* On May 5, an officer recovered a 2004 Pontiac in the 100 block of Jefferson Street that had been stolen from Parkersburg.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 5.

* On May 4, a male Marietta Middle School student ran from his mother into the woods in the 700 block of Glendale Road. The juvenile was located.

* On May 4, officers mediated a neighborhood dispute in the100 block of Nelson Avenue.

* On May 4, Roy Lee Goodnight Jr., 36, of 3407 Seventh Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested at East Muskingum Park for assault and criminal damaging. After receiving a complaint of a disturbance, an officer observed Goodnight running toward the river in Muskingum Park and was able to cut him off with his police cruiser. Goodnight ran around the cruiser and upon looking back at the officer proceeded to fall over the river bank.

The officer located Goodnight after he stopped rolling down the river bank at which time Goodnight jumped into the river. Officers were able to talk Goodnight, clad only in his boxer shorts, out of the river about 20 minutes later and had him taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries from the brush he fell over during his descent over the river bank. Investigation revealed that after a day of birthday drinking, Goodnight got into an argument with his girlfriend at 413 1/2 Third St. Goodnight left the residence and upon returning a short time later, punched out a window of a Honda Civic parked nearby. Goodnight then got into an argument with the residents of 413 1/2 Third St. and threw a female to the ground, causing injuries to her shin. Goodnight tested .155 percent BAC and was taken to jail to await court.

* On May 4, Britney Hamilton reported a theft of an iPhone 6 from Kroger, 22 Acme St.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on May 4.

* On May 1, an officer advised the resident at 225 S. Seventh St. to turn his music down.

* On May 1, Tyler Jacob Wilson of Coolville reported his 1989 Honda Civic was stolen from 210 S. Fifth St. by a person known to him.

* On May 1, Curtis James Anderson, 37, and Tammy Marie Preston, 41, both of 39487 Harrietsville Road, Lower Salem, Ohio, were arrested at Wal-Mart for theft after they stole clothing valued at $185.99. Both individuals will be summoned into Marietta Municipal Court.

* On May 2, an officer spoke with a Quarry Street mother about her unruly 15-year-old son.

* On May 2, officers mediated a neighborhood dispute in the 200 block of Cedar Street.

* On May 2, officers investigated a drug overdose at 610 Warren St.

* On May 2, David Wayne Evans, 39, of 16120 Ohio 821, Macksburg, Ohio, was arrested at headquarters for violating a protection order and was taken to jail.

* On May 3, Tonya L. McMaster, 40, of 703 Sixth St., was arrested on a municipal court warrant for violating the terms of her probation and was taken to jail.

* On May 3, officers checked on a disturbance in the 400 block of Fourth Street. A man and woman were separated and went their ways.

* On May 3, officers checked on a report of a fight at 112 Front St. Individuals were found to be engaged in “alcohol induced mouthiness” but were not fighting.

* On May 3, officers checked on a disturbance in the 200 block of Sheldon Avenue. Individuals separated and went to their own houses.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on April 30.

* On April 29, officers checked on a disturbance at 408 Scammel St. A female there left when requested.

* On April 29, an officer checked for a possible missing juvenile in the 600 block of Tenth Street. The juvenile turned out to not be missing but with his grandmother.

* On April 29, an employee of Auto Zone, 121 Pike St., reported a theft of a Duralast battery valued at $49.99.

* On April 29, Benjamin Patrick Finkel, 21 of 317 Sixth St., was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to drive in marked lanes in the 800 block of Lancaster Street. An officer observed Finkel driving in the 800 block of Lancaster Street, going left of center several times and running on a shredded flat tire which was causing a shower of sparks. Finkel was taken to headquarters where he tested .104 percent BAC and was later released.
