Wood Magistrate
PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Feb. 19:
* Candace Mowery, 1305 Lost Pavement Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to issuing worthless checks and fined $340.48. He had a charge of obtaining property in return for a worthless check on a pre-existing debt dismissed after she paid the victim what she owed in cash.
* Richard Fred Johnsen Jr., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to fishing without a license and fined $206.48. He had a charge of domestic battery dismissed without prejudice as the alleged victim does not wish to pursue the matter.
* Joshua Edward Sprouse, 814 Neal St., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on charges of malicious or unlawful assault and kidnapping. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Justin Michael Johnson, Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of third-offense shoplifting. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Brooks Mykael Hedges, 1611360 St. , Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery, fined $176.48 and sentenced to one year in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. He is to have no contact with the alleged victims.
* Jonathan Wayne Batten, 1001 Mill Ave., Parkersburg, was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and fined $176.48 after an unsuccessful deferred sentence agreement.
* Michael Doren Edwards, 1015 Locust Ridge Road, Washington, W.Va., pleaded guilty to DUI with a BAC of .15 or more, fined $351.48 and sentenced to three days in jail with a credit of two days for time served.
* Hunter James Poole, 82 Camp Barbe Road, Elizabeth, pleaded guilty to striking an unattended vehicle and fined $326.48. A charge of reckless driving was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Chad Erick Bosley, 507 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to trespassing, fined $181.48 and sentenced to six days in jail which was ruled as time served.
* Guy Franklin Boggs Jr., 1208 15th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation.
* Chad Michael Wilson, 936 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. Another two charges of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription were dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Aja Deon Lacey, 425 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, Wash., pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm, fined $176.48 and sentenced to five days in jail which was ruled as time served.
* Guy F. Boggs, 1208 15th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. He had charges of maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances and possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Timothy Brian Snodgrass, 1117 Liberty Ave., Harrisville, had a charge of petit larceny dismissed. The case is eight years old and the arresting officer is no longer on the force.
* Lindsey Marie Garner Lucas, 108 Miller St., Paden City, W.Va., had a charge of delivery of an imitation controlled substance dismissed.
* Peter Brooks Wharton, 1722 20th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. Another charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription.
* Tiffany Marie Kees, C/O 902 13th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and fined $276.48. A charge of having no insurance was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Ronald Clifford Hopkins Jr., 207 Eighth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and held on $150,000 bond.
* Amy Dawn Greenleaf Larsen, 1423 20th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on three counts of unauthorized use of an access device and released on $6,000 bond.
* Stephany Lynn Anderson, 601 Barclay St. Lot #10, Belpre, was arraigned on charges of transferring/receiving stolen property, bringing stolen property into the state and obstructing an officer and released on $5,000 bond.
* Ethan Michale Falls, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of violating a domestic violence protective order and domestic assault and released on $1,000 bond.
* Chelsea D Rockhold, 1415 Beaver St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to selling/furnishing beer to someone under 21 years old.
* Dannie Charles Adkins, 96 Fenton Lane, Williamstown, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a live raccoon and fined $196.48.
