Wood Magistrate
PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled May 17 in Wood County Magistrate Court:
* Timothy J. Smalley, 22, Louisville, Ky., pleaded no contest to a seatbelt violation and fined $25.
* Jessica Diane Freed, 24, Williamstown, pleaded guilty to two counts of driving on a suspended license and fined $270.25.
* Jacob Allen Plants, 26, Letart, pleaded guilty to doing an improper lane change, having no proof of insurance and fined $550.50.
* Christopher Allen Reynolds, 35, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery, sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $170.25. The jail sentence will run concurrently with another sentence.
* Kayla Marie Hess, 34, Parkersburg,pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and having no insurance and fined $640.50. A charge of having no registration was dismissed.
* Lawrence Martin Brown, 33, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to first-offense shoplifting and fined $180.25. He was ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to Rural King.
* Rachael Nichole Wilson, 31, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and fined $180.25. She was ordered to pay a $1,048.19 civil penalty to Michael’s. She also pleaded guilty to shoplifting – removal of merchandise and ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to Rebel Marathon.
* Jessica Hope Kelley, 39, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of driving on a suspended license and cell phone use and released on $500 bond.
* Bernard William Stark III, 31, Ripley, was arraigned on charges of obstruction, disorderly conduct and public intoxication and held on $700 bond.
* Robert Michael Stump, 24, was arraigned on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse and held on $100,000 bond.
* Burton James Garnes, 42, Evans, was arraigned on charges of no MVI (two counts), no proof of insurance and improper registration and released on $400 bond.
* Eric Charles Liotti, 20, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of having no proof of insurance, expired MVI, tire depth, reckless driving and having an open container and released on $3,000 bond.
* James Eugene Cain, 42, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and a stop sign violation and released on $1,500 bond.
* Alexander Ray Rector, 19, Williamstown, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $2,000 bond.
