Wood Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled recently in Wood County Circuit Court:

* Jonathan Carl Forshey, also known as John Michael Deem, 29, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, pleaded guilty before Judge Jason Wharton to cruelty to animals and sentenced to six months in jail with a credit of 156 days for time served. He was also fined $2,000 and ordered to pay $162 in court fees and $500 for a portion of the court appointed counsel fees within two years of his release. He also has to forfeit any animal he has to the humane society and is prohibited from possessing or owning any animal for five years. If he does have any animal during that time, he can be fined up to $2,000.

* Adam R. Thornton, 34, 19th Street, Parkersburg, did not appear for a recent status hearing before Judge Robert Waters in regard to two charges of grand larceny and receiving and transferring stolen goods. A capias warrant has been continued.

* Michael Allen Bailey, 21, 418 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty before Waters for fleeing with reckless disregard from an officer. He is scheduled to be sentenced 10 a.m. Jan. 14.

* Kenneth A. Hutson II, 40, 46 Meadowbrook Acres, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty before Waters to failure to notify of registration changes. He has asked for probation. A pre-sentencing investigation has been ordered. Bond remains at $100,000. Sentencing is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 22.
