Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases Nov. 21:

* Zachary Schoolcraft, 27, 1002 23rd Ave. Apartment 14, Vienna, pleaded guilty to a charge of shoplifting, two counts of violation of a protective order and possession of a firearm by prohibited person. As part of a plea agreement he was dismissed on the charges of driving while suspended, no headlights after dark, violation of a protective order, trespassing and obstruction. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, ordered to pay a $645.96 civil penalty to the shoplifting victim and assessed $691 in court costs and fines.

* Kevin Miller, 38, 1408 20th St., Parkersburg, was dismissed on a charge of operating without navigation lights because the arresting officer and state do not wish to pursue.

* Ryan Merluzzi, 25, 1500 Core Road, Parkersburg, was dismissed on a charge of violation of a protective order because the victim failed to appear.

* Paul Brown, 46, 438 Victoria Ave., Williamstown, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was sentenced to one year probation and was assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines. As part of a plea agreement, he was dismissed on two charges of trespassing.

* Timothy Allen Ball, 51, 1105 29th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of violation of a protective order; he was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and was assessed $420.25 in court costs and fines. As part of a plea agreement, he was dismissed on two counts of violation of a protective order.

* Gary Paris Jr., 47, P.O. Box 3286, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of no insurance and failure to maintain control. As part of a plea agreement he was dismissed on the charges of operating without inspection and improper registration. He was assessed $545.50 in court costs and fines.

* Thomas Stephen, 49, 515 Myrtle St., Parkersburg, was dismissed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, methamphetamine, after pleading to another charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; he was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Alex Betts, 52, 1201 9th St. Apartment 16, Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of possession of narcotics, methamphetamine, and was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Nicholas Wilcox, 26, 821 Fairview Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charge of driving while suspended or revoked and was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Jeffrey Smith, 37, 49364 Eagle Ridge Road, Long Bottom, Ohio, pleaded no contest to a charge of operating without inspection and was assessed $175.25 in court costs and fines.

* Daniel Barnett 33, 372 Sycamore St., Belpre, pleaded guilty to the charge of unlawful act of licenses and was assessed $220.25 in court costs and fines.

* Mark Wagner, 33, 418 Serpentine Drive, Pittsburgh, was arraigned on a charge of driving while impaired and was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Kathy Lowe, 62, 2503 Beverly St. Apartment 8, Parkersburg, no contest plead to a charge of shoplifting she was assessed $195.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a civil penalty of $107.98 to the victim.

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases Nov. 22

* Clara Polasko, 74, 615 1/2 Market St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of DUI, a first offense, and was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Edward Gibson III, 33, 1205 Rayon Drive, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of petit larceny; he was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for nine days and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Dustin Halko, 37, 1138 South Harris Ave., Columbus, was dismissed from a charge of malicious or unlawful assault because the alleged victim failed to appear.
