Wood County Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Circuit Court heard the following reports on Oct. 1:

In Judge Jason Wharton’s Court:

* Myron Pringle, 42, in custody, was found guilty in a plea to delivery of a controlled substance, count one; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, count seven, and fleeing on foot, count 10. He was sentenced to one to 15 years at the West Virginia Department of Corrections for counts one and seven, and one year for count 10; all three sentencings to run consecutively.

In Judge Robert Waters’ Court:

* Jamar Harold Hunter, 32, 1932 Princeton St., Parkersburg, who was indicted on charges of malicious assault, strangulation, fraudulent use of an access device and domestic battery, did not show for his sentencing. His bond has been revoked and a capias issued.

According to a criminal complaint in Wood County Magistrate Court, on May 26, Hunter squeezed his girlfriend’s neck until she lost consciousness. When she tried to escape, he allegedly threw her around and repeatedly struck, kicked and stomped her. The assault lasted nearly three hours, the complaint says.

She convinced him to stop and when they left the house, she fled to a convenience store and hid behind the counter while a clerk called 911. At the emergency room, it was determined she had a fractured eye socket and rib, along with internal and external bruises and swelling. While she was at the hospital, Hunter allegedly used her debit card to withdraw $600 from her account without permission.

* Joshua Hall, 38, 1315 Ridgeway Ave., Parkersburg, was found guilty in a plea to strangulation, count one; domestic battery, count three, and unlawful restraint, count four. He was sentenced to one to five years at the West Virginia Department of Corrections for count one, and one year at the regional jail for counts three and four. Counts three and four will run concurrently to each other, but consecutively to count one.
