Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases on May 16:

* Tabitha Cunningham, 96 Wildwood Drive, apartment 103, Parkersburg, was arraigned on five charges of defrauding, falsely making, altering, forging, uttering, passing or counterfeiting a lottery ticket and she was released on a $5,000 surety bond.

* David Myers, 37, 246 Benn Lake Road, Walker, was arraigned on charges of driving while suspended, a third offense, no insurance, no registration, improper registration and possession of a counterfeit with intent to utter. He was released on a $2,500 surety bond.

* Kira Hetrick, 21, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of child abuse creating risk of injury and domestic battery after spanking her 2-year-old multiple times with a wooden spoon leaving bruises. She was released on a $4,000 surety bond.

* Matthew Burke, 48, 45669 Miller Road, Pomeroy, was arraigned on a third-offense charge of driving while suspended or revoked for DUI and was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 surety bond.

* Chase Hart, 18, 58 Aqua Circle, lot 7, Parkersburg, was arraigned for drag racing and was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Scott Brewster, 51, 120 Woodshire Drive, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and was assessed $210.25 in court costs and fines.

* Michael Beaver, 28, 526 Old Turnpike Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana, and was assessed $180.25 in court costs and fines.

* Brooklyn Wyatt, 24, 363 Emmaus Road, Belpre, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana, and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Carl Burner III, 38, 120 Pointe Drive, Lot 8, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to charges of assault and shoplifting; he was sentenced to time served, assessed $350.50 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to the victim.
