Wood Circuit Court
PARKERSBURG – Three hearings took place in Wood County Circuit Court Thursday.
* Codie Lee Roberts, 19, 47 Wyndham Road, Parkersburg, was sentenced after his Jan. 15 guilty plea to a bill of information charging him with battery, a misdemeanor. Judge Robert Waters sentenced him to 12 months in the North Central Regional Jail, suspended for five years, and he will be required to register as a sex offender for life. He will serve 30 days in jail before his probation will begin and the issue of restitution will be left open for 20 days.
* Jeffrey Ryan Boling, 34, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement and was sentenced on two counts from a bill of information charging him with fleeing from an officer with reckless indifference and first-offense DUI. Judge Jeffrey Reed sentenced him to one to five years in prison for the fleeing charge and time served and a $100 fine for the DUI charge. The issue of restitution will be left open for 30 days.
* Rodrick Pettis, 26, 1111 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, was granted a motion by Judge Robert Waters to move his trial to the May court term and a new trial date was set for May 19, case No. 4. A hearing to suppress evidence was set for 9:15 a.m. April 20. A motion to reinstate bond was denied. Waters revoked the bond and Pettis was remanded to custody.
