Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were recently handled in Wood County Magistrate Court:

∫ Jaseina Shaire Craft, 34, 1155 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of fraudulent use of an access device and was released on $5,000 bond.

∫ James Edward Arnold, 46, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of domestic battery and obstruction and was released on $2,000 bond.

∫ Sean Stump, 25, 2404 27th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth and heroin) and two counts of possession of a controlled substance on a capias warrant and released on $1,900 bond.

∫ Chad Christopher True, 56 Ash Circle, Davisville, was arraigned on possession of a controlled substance and improper registration and released on $1,000 bond.

∫ Michael David Sams, 48, 602 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on second-offense driving on a suspended license and released on $500 bond.

∫ Joshua David Clegg, 25, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery was released on $2,000 bond.

∫ Mary Ann Gwynn, 1656 Spider Ridge Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $180.25.

∫ Kevin Brian Curfman, 54, 41 Timberwolfe Dr., Waverly, pleaded no contest to speed limitations generally; penalty (10 mph or less above); and fined $175.25.

∫ William Dale Rupert, 13089 Gillespie Run Rd., Petroleum, pleaded guilty to not having required motorboat equipment, floatation device and fined $190.25.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports on Sept. 8:

Sept. 1

∫ A deputy responded to C&L Trucking for a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported he drives a truck and leaves his vehicle parked on the lot. Upon returning to get his vehicle he discovered it was missing. The vehicle was a Honda Passport. The vehicle was located later in the afternoon where it had been observed backed into a parking lot off of Julius Street. The owner was notified and responded to take possession of his vehicle.

∫ A deputy responded to the Burger King at Emerson Commons for a vehicle accident. The accident occurred in the drive thru of the Burger King with minor damage to the vehicles and the drivers exchanging information. No crash report taken.

∫ A deputy responded to Elizabeth Pike for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival the deputy observed a convertible with flames coming from under the hood and front wheel well area. The complainant stated he was test driving the vehicle when the power steering went out and was able to get it onto the parking lot of Elizabeth Pike at which time the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department was able to get the fire out. The mechanic from the car lot arrived and the vehicle was towed.

∫ Brittannie Kitt Combs, 21, State Route 34, Winfield, W.Va., was arrested on warrants for petit larceny and battery through Putnam County.

∫ James Edward Arnold, 46, Hill Avenue, was arrested on warrants for domestic battery and obstructing. He was placed at the holding center pending arraignment.

Sept. 2

∫ A deputy responded to Wyndham Knob for a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported someone went through his vehicle and removed a credit card and had stolen the other vehicle. The complainant reported he was informed the credit card had two charges on it after it had been taken. The deputy has viewed the video from where the purchase was made and the investigation is ongoing. The vehicle was been entered NCIC, however, it was later located in the area of Staunton Turnpike and turned over to the owner.

∫ A deputy responded to Truss Rafters on Emerson Avenue for a vehicle with a bullet hole in it. The complainant estimated the cost of the damage to be around $250.

∫ Ronald Lee Bush Jr, 43, Elm Street, Davisville, was arrested on a warrant for violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was processed, arraigned before a magistrate, could not post $2,500 surety bond and was placed in the Holding Center.

Sept. 3

∫ A deputy responded to the park and ride on Core Road for a vehicle crash. The accident occurred in the sharp turn near Altman Avenue on Core Road and the vehicle had been moved to the park and ride. The driver stated she began sliding in the turn and struck the guardrail. The vehicle was not safe to drive and a crash report was taken.

∫ A deputy responded to the Omelet Shoppe for subjects leaving without paying for their food. The area was checked with negative contact and a report was made.

∫ A deputy responded to I-77 at the 176 milemarker for a vehicle crash. The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to hydroplane due to the standing water on the road and crashed into the guardrail. The vehicle was towed and a crash report was taken.

∫ Deputies responded to Mineral Manor Way for an unwanted person. Rebecca Marie Morgan, 28, was arrested on a capias for knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription.

Sept. 4

∫ Calvin J. Carpenter, 37, Boso Street, Belpre, was issued a citation for driving on suspended/revoked and Alaina Marie Rader, 29, Boaz Gardens Drive, was arrested on a capias issued out of Wood County, a capias out of Jackson County, a bailpiece out of Jackson County and a warrant out of Jackson County.

∫ Deputies responded to College Parkway for a storage building being damaged. The complainant stated the latch was damaged to his unit.

Sept. 5

∫ Thomas G. Little Jr, 30, Second Street, St. Marys, was arrested on a NCIC hit out of Pleasants County for bond revocation; Wesley Adam Blackwell, 27, Harris Highway, was issued a citation for no insurance and the vehicle was towed.

∫ A deputy responded to Briscoe Road for a vehicle accident. The driver stated he was traveling west on Briscoe Road when another vehicle pulled out of a parking lot causing him to swerve to avoid a collision. He swerved into a ditch off of the left side of the road. A wrecker arrived and pulled the vehicle from the ditch.

Sept. 6

∫ Brendan Neil Hinzman, 34, of Core Road was issued a citation for driving on suspended/revoked and no insurance.

∫ Deputies responded to the area of Harris Highway and Lake Street in front of the Lubeck Fire Department for a vehicle crash. Upon arrival the Deputy observed the vehicle in the ditch of the Northbound Lane of Harris Highway. Sean Patrick Massey, 57, of Palhurst Plaza was arrested on charges of aggravated DUI.

Sept. 7

∫ A deputy responded to Emerson Avenue near Northwood Villa for a Larceny that had already occurred. The foreman stated that one of their grout machine had a gas tank removed and someone had attempted to steal the battery as well. A Caterpillar 315 excavator had its battery stolen from the same location.

∫ Deputies responded to Peoples Cartage located on Camden Avenue for a vehicle theft and a breaking and entering. An employee stated a 2017 Ford F-550 crew cab dump truck had been taken from the property and someone had entered the building and damaged the overhead door by using the forklift in the building. At this time investigation is ongoing.
