Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were recently handled in Wood County Magistrate Court:

* Christopher E. Byrd, 32, 209 Elm St., Belpre, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license in February and fined $270.25. He had a charge of having no proof of insurance dismissed.

* Christopher Edward Linn Byrd, 32, 1103 30th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to driving while license was revoked for DUI and petit larceny from March and October 2019, was fined $440.25 and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 15 days credited for time served.

∫ Tracy Lynn Florence, 33, 157 Dickens Dr. Apt 7, Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription from April, was fined $170.25 and placed on unsupervised probation for six months.

∫ Matthieu James Neal, 36, 2242 DuPont Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance and released on $1,000 bond.

∫ Angela Sue Nutter, 42, 4357 Laurel Creek Road, Waverly, was arraigned on obstruction and for two capias warrants and released on $3,500 bond.

∫ Steven Mark Boise, 59, 205 Coldwater Creek Drive, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on charges of obstruction and driving on a revoked license for DUI and released on $1,000 bond.

∫ Eric Daniel Whitlatch, 51, homeless, was arraigned on a charge of receiving/transferring stolen property and released on $1,500 bond.

∫ Brittany Bell, 19, 502 Elm St., Belpre, was arraigned on charges of driving on a revoked license for DUI, having no insurance and released on $1,000 bond.

∫ Adam J. Hadley, 32, 56 Ash Circle, Davisville, was arraigned on a charge of destruction of property in relation to a rental vehicle from Hertz and released on $5,000 bond.

∫ Dustin D. Metz, 37, 2514 10th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of strangulation and bond was set at $10,000 bond. On Aug. 26, Parkersburg Police responded to a domestic dispute in progress. Officers heard a banging sound and a female voice screaming to stop. Once separated the victim told police the defendant strangled her three times. Officers observed redness and scratch marks on her neck. She and the defendant are husband and wife and live at the residence together, according to court records.

PARKERSBURG — This past weekend the Parkersburg Police Department responded to 334 calls for service:

∫ Kimberly Davis, 27, of Parkersburg, was arrested Aug. 28 on a warrant.

∫ Cody Paxton, 28, of Parkersburg, was arrested Aug. 30 on warrants.

∫ Kevin Swiger, 35, of Parkersburg, was arrested Aug. 30 for fleeing with reckless disregard and several warrants.

∫ On Aug. 28, officers responded to Emerson Avenue in reference to a destruction of property.

∫ On Aug. 28, officers responded to West Virginia Avenue in reference to a breaking and entering that already occurred.

∫ On Aug. 28, officers responded to 7-11 on Gihon Road in reference to shoplifting.

∫ On Aug. 29, officers responded to Dollar General on Dudley Avenue in reference to a vehicle entry.

∫ On Aug. 29, officers responded to 14th Street in reference to a stolen bicycle.

∫ On Aug. 29, officers responded to Market Street in reference to a vehicle entry.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to Murdoch Avenue in reference to a larceny that already occurred.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to the skate park in reference to vandalism.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to Speedway on Murdoch Avenue in reference to counterfeit currency.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to Dollar General on Dudley Avenue in reference to shoplifting that already occurred.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to Garfield Avenue in reference to a destruction of property.

∫ On Aug. 30, officers responded to Nora Street in reference to a stolen license plate.

∫ Between Aug. 28-30, officers responded to six motor vehicle accidents.
