Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court March 16:

* Nichole Amber Smarr, 36, 467 Vaughn Road, Grantsville, and Justin Daniel Deems, 29, 725 Seventh St., Marietta, were each arraigned on one count of breaking and entering. According to criminal complaints, they were arrested Sunday after allegedly leaving 1504 36th St., the former Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital. Police searching the building found evidence that people had been on the second floor, and the suspects were located a few blocks away in possession of a sedative agent for dogs, a box of hypodermic needles and a box of medical equipment.

* Justin Kyle Edman, 24, 1015 Laird Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of fleeing while driving under the influence and fleeing with reckless indifference and bond was set at $20,000 surety.

* Raymond Edward Spears, 46, 511 1/2 Olive St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of obstruction and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Joshua Shawn Williams, 35, 512 Pike St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving on a license suspended for DUI and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* James Russell Anderson Jr., 27, 1713 Staunton Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of fleeing; obstructing; possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and failure to obey a stop sign and bond was set at $2,500 surety.

* Sarah Elizabeth Cabaniss, 41, 1508 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving under the influence and released on a $1,500 bond.

* Billy Glenn Davis, 36, 808 Jackson Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of fleeing with reckless indifference and released on a $7,500 surety bond

* Brandon Douglas Boggs, 28, 1800 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of forgery/uttering and released on a $7,500 surety bond.

* Karisa B. Ridgway, 24, 514 Third St., Marietta, was arraigned on charges of aggravated DUI and speeding, 44 mph in a 25 mph zone, and released on a $2,000 bond.

* Melissa Sue Price, 40, St. Marys, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

* Clinton Cole Levasseur, 39, P.O. Box 308, Coolville, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Shane Michael Modesitt, 46, 100 4 1/2 St., Williamstown, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense driving on a license suspended/revoked for DUI and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.

* James Adam Logan, 41, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense shoplifting and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Danielle Sue Kuhens, 41, 3855 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, was arraigned on four counts of third-offense shoplifting and one count of forgery of a public record and bond was set at $25,000 surety.

* Michael Anthony Laurnoff, 55, 1023 24th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Austin Tyler Izzo, 24, 3515 Sixth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful taking of a vehicle and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Edward Ray Conley, 54, 106 Devol Drive, Marietta, was arraigned on a third-offense shoplifting charge and bond was set at $1,000.

* April Honey Youst, 38, 102 Palmer Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and was released on $7,500 bond.

* Shawn Aaron Cloninger, 33, 1216 23rd St., pleaded guilty to a shoplifting charge and was assessed $175.25 in fines and court costs and $50 in civil penalties.

* Joshua Curtis Antell, 38, 5159 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, was arraigned on charges of unlawful taking of a vehicle and destruction of property and was released on $1,500 bond.

* Katherine J. Williams, 25, 205 Clark Drive, Marietta, pleaded guilty to expired MVI and was assessed $175.25 in fines and court costs.

* Alauna Ranelle Watts, 23, 97 Old Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to red light violation and was assessed $175.25 in fines and court costs.

* Eric Benton Porter Jr., 49, 4039 Loomis Ridge Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of wildlife and was assessed $210.25 in fines and court costs.

* Daniel Ryan Facemyre, 20, 1017 18th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a burglary charge and bond was set at $25,000.

* Richard Aaron Sprouse, 44, 94 North Fork Road, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was released on $1,500 bond.

* Scott Frank Breiding, 25, Washington, W.Va., waived a preliminary hearing on a strangulation charge and the case was bound over to Wood County Circuit Court.

* Justin Brian Hines, 23, 271 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and the case was bound over to circuit court.

* Steven C. Dowler, 62, Vincent, was arraigned on a domestic battery charge and was released on $2,000 bond.

* Holly Marie Goodson, 36, 500 13th St., Apt. 305, Parkersburg, waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of third-offense driving under suspension and the case was bound over to circuit court.

* Ashlee Nicole Dugan, 21, 2005 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and was released on $1,000 bond.

* Justin Wayne Taylor, 28, 6700 Quick Road, Clendenin, W.Va., was arraigned on a battery charge and was released on $500 bond.

* Nicholas Ray Root, 30, 1807 Pike St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of driving under suspension and no insurance and was released on $1,000 bond.

* Devin F. Heaton, 48, Reedsville, was arraigned on two counts of violation of a protective order and was released on $1,500 bond.

* Khaled G. Alhawawsheh, 51, Mineral Wells, had a domestic battery charge dismissed after the alleged victim did not wish to pursue.

* Dylan R. Mcdowell, 29, 1770 Pleasant Valley Hill Road, Parkersburg, had a fleeing from an officer charge dismissed after the officer failed to appear.

* Michael Jay Delancey, 47, 1115 17th St., Vienna, had charges of driving under suspension, no insurance, fraudulent MVI, expired registration and two counts of possession of a controlled substance dismissed after the officer failed to appear.

* Derek William Brown, 30, West Union, had a domestic battery charge dismissed after the officer and alleged victim failed to appear.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports March 16:

* From March 13-15, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office answered 136 calls, including: 14 traffic stops; three mental hygiene orders, six intrusion alarms, five domestic complaints and domestic order services, four motor vehicle accidents, one warrant service, five area checks, 16 speak with complainant by phone/in person, and four suspicious vehicles/persons.

* On March 13, a deputy responded to Fourth Avenue in reference to assisting Home Confinement officers that had located narcotics while doing a home inspection on a client. John Scott Sprouse, 44, of Fourth Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and violating home confinement.

* On March 13, a deputy responded to an empty field at the intersection of Rosemar Road and College Parkway in reference to a stolen dump truck. The complainant reported that the dump truck had been in the field for over a year and on this date it had been taken. The vehicle was entered NCIC.

* On March 13, a K-9 deputy responded to assist Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop on Ohio 7 in Reno. The K-9, Ogi, indicated on the vehicle at which time the vehicle was searched and the driver was arrested by OSHP.

* On March 14, a deputy responded to Schwabe and Associates located on Core Road in reference to a dump truck in the parking lot. The vehicle came back as the one reported stolen on March 13 from Rosemar Road and College Parkway. The owner was notified and was going to come and retrieve the dump truck.

* On March 14, Wayland J. Smith, 21, of Fleming Road, Lowell, was issued a citation for driving on suspended.

* On March 14, a deputy spoke with the complainant who reported that he owns a HVAC Company and when he had gone to his storage garage he observed several items to have been taken. The stolen items are all HVAC equipment and a Generac GP3300 generator.

* On March 15, deputies responded to Southern Highway in reference to a single vehicle rollover crash. The driver reported that he was traveling a little too fast and had lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll over. He was checked by EMS and had a cut on his hand with no other injuries. The vehicle was towed and he refused medical transportation.

* On March 15, deputies responded to the Quality Inn located on 37th Street in reference to a disorderly subject. The female complainant stated that her girlfriend had beat her up. The deputy observed bruising and lacerations to the complainant. The deputy then made contact with the other female who reported that she had in fact hit the complainant with her fist and with the telephone in the hotel bedroom. Melissa Sue Price, 40, of Java Run Road, St. Marys, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.

* On March 15, Christian Lee Pickens, 22, of Kay Street, was issued a citation for expired MVI and expired registration.

Williamstown Police

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown Police Department released the following reports March 16:

March 10

* Tessa Hewison, 18, Senecaville, Ohio, was cited for speeding, 55 mph in a 35 mph zone, on West Third Street.

* Robyn Davidson, 48, Vienna, was cited for speeding, 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, on West Third Street.

March 11

* Heather Gay, 34, Vienna, was cited for speeding, 53 mph in a 35 mph zone,on West Third Street.

* Brittany Strickland, 24, Vienna, was cited for speeding, 53 mph in a 35 mph zone, on West Third Street.

March 13

* Shane Michael Modesitt, 46, Williamstown, was arrested on a charge of second-offense driving on a license revoked for DUI on Highland Avenue. Modesitt was arraigned at Wood County Magistrate Court and released after posting bond.

* Lesley Campbell, 39, McConnelsville, was cited for speeding, 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, on West Third Street.

March 14

* Sebastian Walker, 25, Parkersburg, was cited for speeding, 40 mph in a 25 mph zone, on Highland Avenue.

* Karisa Bre’Anne Ridgway, 24, Marietta, was arrested on charges of aggravated DUI and speeding following a traffic stop on Highland Avenue. Ridgway was stopped for speeding, 44 mph in a 25 mph zone. Officers noticed signs of intoxication and after failing field sobriety tests Ridgway was arrested. Ridgway’s blood-alcohol content later tested 0.153. Ridgway was placed in the West Virginia Division of Corrections and later arraigned and released after posting bond.

March 15

* Rachel Layfield, 21, Williamstown, was cited for improper backing and possession of controlled substances on Columbia Avenue.

* Travis Taylor, 23, St. Marys, was cited for second-offense driving on a suspended license on Waverly Road.

* Lakota Lott, 25, Ravenswood, was cited for speeding, 39 mph in a 25 mph zone, on Highland Avenue.

* Eric Miller, 18, Mineral Wells, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol on Highland Avenue.
