Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court released the following reports Oct. 21:

* Doyal Michael Scarberry, 28, 73 Delta Place, Davisville, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, less than 15 grams; brandishing; and obstructing an officer. According to a criminal complaint, Scarberry was arrested Oct. 20 after a resident in the 1200 block of Avery Street reported he was on her porch screaming and holding a knife.

* Ryan Ronald Pedro, 24, 41 S. Parkview Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of reporting a false emergency, and bond was set at $1,000 surety. Pedro allegedly called authorities twice on Oct. 19 to report someone was breaking into his room at the Travel Lodge, 3604 E. Seventh St., Parkersburg, when that was not the case.

* Edward Dale Powers, 68, 121 W. Ninth St., Williamstown, was arraigned on charges of battery of a police officer and obstructing a police officer and released on a $2,500 bond. The criminal complaint says Powers became angry with a Williamstown Police officer when informed a family member would not be charged with a crime and struck the officer with a glass door, knocking him off the porch. Powers had to be taken to the ground by two officers as he was being placed under arrest, the complaint says.

* Matthew Ryan Hunt, 32, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on charges of domestic battery, unlawful restraint, petit larceny, fleeing on foot, obstructing and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and suboxone, and released on a $3,000 surety bond. According to a criminal complaint, on Oct. 18, Hunt fled from a Wood County Sheriff’s deputy who approached him at the south Parkersburg Wal-Mart to question him about the theft of a cell phone case. After he fled into a field behind Lowe’s, another deputy deployed K-9 Ogi to join the pursuit. Hunt continued to resist the K-9 and deputies before finally being handcuffed. The domestic battery and unlawful restraint charges were from a warrant from a previous incident.

* Kristy Ann Conley, 34, Center Point, W.Va., was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Jeffrey Alan Caplinger, 29, 159 Kesterson Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering of an automobile and released on a $500 surety bond.

* Jason Dean Buckingham, 38, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and bond was set at $1,000 surety.

* Justin Daniel Deems, 39, 725 Seventh St., Marietta, was arraigned on a charge of petit larceny and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* James Drexel Winter, 35, 1602 Core Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of no trash service and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Edward Albert Minke, 52, 605 10th St., Marietta, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams, and one count of driving on a license suspended/revoked for miscellaneous and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Wesley Otis Beckett, 38, 410-10 Avery Court, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense driving on a license revoked for driving under the influence and released on a $3,000 surety bond.

* Timothy Ray Province, 34, 378 Witcher Creek Road, Apt. 6, Belle, W.Va., was arraigned on charges of assault and battery and released on a $700 surety bond.

* Melinda Faye Glenn, 27, 1323 40th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of transporting a controlled substance into a correctional facility and bond was set at $5,000 surety.

* Michael Thomas Runyon, 30, 1609 Hill St., Belpre, was arraigned on charges of second-offense shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance, meth, and bond was set at $1,500 surety.

* Charles Dylan Wilby, 27, 2033 16th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of fleeing and eluding and bond was set at $500 surety.

* Matthew Bailey Hammonds, 33, 2301 11th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, MDMA, and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Shawn Eugene Covey, 42, 3115 Ohio 26, Marietta, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense battery of a police officer and bond was set at $10,000 surety.

* Adam Rockford Cody Thornton, 33, care of 1621 19th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of grand larceny and one count of receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle and bond was set at $35,000.

* Jonathan Wayne Smith, 33, 611 32nd St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of fraudulent schemes and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

* Elijah Jacob Trammell, 24, 729 Lynn Camp Road, Pennsboro, was arraigned on charges of first-offense DUI and reckless driving and released on a $2,500 bond.

* Robert Parker, 37, 517 Ellis Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of second-offense driving under suspension, no insurance, improper registration and failure to obey traffic control device and was released on $500 bond.

* Anthony Charles Smith, 34, 618 Reed St., Apt. 4, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to third-offense driving under suspension, was sentenced to 30 days jail with credit for time served and was assessed $320.25 in fines and court costs.

* Jade Laurie Allen, 33, 821 28th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation and was assessed $170.25 in court costs.

* Shad Michael Knight, 27, 95 Captain Parker Trail, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of prohibited person in possession of a firearm and bond was set at $10,000.

* William Leon Comuzie, 55, 2300 1/2 Broadway Ext., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of obtaining a controlled substance through fraud and bond was set at $1,500.

* Debra Lee Sampson, 25, 27317 SR 7, Apt. A, Marietta, pleaded guilty to no insurance and fleeing, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation and was assessed $540.50 in fines and court costs.

* Michael Paul Hamilton, 22, 1318 Dillaway St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery of a police officer, was sentenced to 30 days jail with credit for time served and was assessed $170.25 in court costs.

* Derek Robert Christman, 31, 3015 1/2 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to fleeing, was sentenced to 30 days jail with credit for time served and was assessed $170.25 in court costs.

* Robert Aaron Shaver, 41, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to obstructing, was sentenced to time served and was assessed $170.25 in court costs.

PARKERSBURG — The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court on Oct. 22:

* Krystal Sue Judge, 36, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a domestic battery charge and was released on $1,500 bond.

* Amanda Michelle Wittig, 32, 705 Bird St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was assessed $170.25 in court costs and a civil penalty of $492.44.

* Kenneth Ray Parrish, 38, 2615 21st Ave., Apt. 4, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of receiving/transferring stolen property and was released on $1,000 bond.

* Wayne Edward Valentine, 39, 112 Fifth St., Apt. 2, Beverly, was arraigned on a shoplifting charge and was released on $1,000 bond.

* Cody L. Greathouse, 20, 47 Woodland Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on an improper registration charge and was released on $500 bond.

* Zachary Maxwell Wilson, 18, 116 Canterbury Dr., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a driving while impaired charge and was released on $2,000 bond.

* Samantha Adella Reesman, 24, 1104 13th St., Parkersburg, had a case of driving on a suspended license dismissed.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Oct. 22:

* From Oct. 18-20, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office answered 155 calls including: 14 traffic stops, seven accidents, 5 check area calls, eight report follow ups, two check welfare calls, two warrant service attempts, 11 complaints in person, 11 complaints by phone, five intrusion alarms and five domestic orders served.

* On Oct. 18, Lindsay Rachelle Russell, 34, of Veto Circle, was arrested on charges of first-offense driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

* On Oct. 18, Matthew Daniel Hebert, 22, of Stella Street, was served a capias issued through Wood County Circuit Court at the Holding Center where he was being housed on another charge.

* On Oct. 18, Matthew Ryan Hunt, 32, of Sharon Street, was arrested on warrants for domestic battery and unlawful restraint and current charges of petit larceny, fleeing on foot, possession of marijuana and possession of Suboxone.

* On Oct. 18, Brandy Lee Parsons, 41, of Sharon Street, was cited for driving on suspended.

* On Oct. 19, Jason Dean Buckingham, 38, of Latrobe Street, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and served with a warrant of arrest and hold order from the West Virginia Department of Corrections.

* On Oct. 19, Timothy Wayne Snyder, 38, of Tick Ridge Road, Vincent was cited for driving on suspended.

* On Oct. 19, deputies and the East Wood Volunteer Fire Department responded to several calls of a fire; however, the callers could not provide an exact location. The fire was located at which time the homeowner stated he had lit a small brush fire and it had gotten away from him. Chief Goodwin did not locate any signs of a brush fire for which the homeowner then stated that he had set the old outbuilding on fire because he wanted to get rid of it. Matthew P. Shimer, 58, of Little Kanawha Parkway, Creston, was issued a citation for illegal burn.

* On Oct. 19, Ryan Ronald Pedro, 24, of Depot Street, Glenmont, Ohio, was cited for possession of marijuana after deputies responded in regards to a breaking and entering which was found to be unfounded. He was arrested on a charge of falsely reporting an emergency incident after deputies responded again to the Travel Lodge to a report of a breaking and entering.

* On Oct. 19, Melinda Faye Glenn, 27, of Agnes Street, was arrested on a charge of transporting drugs to jail.

* On Oct. 20, deputies responded to I-77 around the 174 mile marker in reference to a single vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer. The driver stated she struck a turkey which was flying across the interstate doing damage to the windshield.

* On Oct. 20, James Drexel Winter, 35, of Core Road, was arrested on a warrant for no trash service issued by the compliance officer.

Williamstown Police

WILLIAMSTOWN- The Williamstown Police Department released the following reports Oct. 21:

Oct. 16:

* Robert Gallew, 25, Parkersburg, was cited for speed 48/25 on Highland Avenue.

Oct. 17:

* Kathryn Oak, 51, Williamstown, was cited for speed 42/25 on Highland Avenue.

* Tiffany Mundorff, 35, Vienna, was cited for speed 40/25 on Highland Avenue.

* Penny Stoneking, 62, Waverly, was cited for speed 41/25 on Highland Avenue.

Oct. 18:

* Timothy Ray Province, 34, Belle, was arrested on warrants for assault and battery as a result of an investigation into an incident at the new Williamstown Elementary School on Oct. 1. Province was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on bond.

* Malcolm Quartermaine, 19, Fleming, was cited for no operators and no insurance on Route 14.

Oct. 19:

* Edward Albert Minke, 52, Marietta, was arrested on warrants charging him with possession of controlled substances and driving on a suspended license at the Go Mart. Officers also charged Minke with possession of marijuana after an amount was recovered on Minke at the time of his arrest. Minke was arraigned in magistrate court and released after posting bond.

* Edward Dale Powers, 68, Williamstown, was arrested on charges of battery of a Police Officer and obstructing following an incident in the 100 block of West Ninth Street. Powers was transported for medical clearance and then placed in the Department of Corrections. Powers was later arraigned in magistrate court and released after posting bond.

* Holly Cunningham, 47, Newport, was cited for speed 59/45 on Route 14.

* Bradley Barnhart, 47, St. Marys, was cited for following too closely on West Third Street.

* Austin Baumgartner, 19, Beverly, was cited for speed 58/45 and no seat belt on Route 14.

Oct. 20:

* Marshall Randolph, 32, Ashland, was cited for speed 38/25 and expired registration on Highland Avenue.
