Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were heard Monday in Wood County Circuit Court:

* John Maxwell Wilson III, 44, 2602 26th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of possesion of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine), a felony, and fleeing from an officer on foot, a misdemeanour. He was sentenced to prison for a period of not less than one year nor more than five on one felony count with the sentence having begun Monday. He was credited 265 days. He was also sentenced to prison for a period of not less than one year nor more than five on the other felony count with no credit given. Those sentences will run consecutively.

He was sentenced to 265 days for the misdemeanour count and was credited for 265 days, the sentence to concurrently run with the first felony charge.

The court recommended he receive intensive substance abuse treatment while in custody. A request for probation was denied.

Wilson was ordered to pay $332 in fines and court costs within a year of his release.

Wilson was committed to the North Central Regional Jail.

* Eddie Allen Gloeckner, 26, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, pleaded guilty to malicious assault, a felony.

On Oct. 3, Parkersburg resident David Taylor drove himself to Camden Clark Medical Center after being shot on the right side of the face. On Oct. 5, with the help of the general public, Gloeckner was arrested and charged, police said.

Gloeckner was put in the custody of the West Virginia Division of Corrections for imprisonment for a term and period of not less than two years nor more than 10 years with the sentence having begun Monday. He was credited 552 days.

A request for probation was denied.

Gloeckner was ordered to pay $257 in fines and court costs within a year of his release.

Gloeckner was committed to the custody of the Regional Jail Authority at the North Central Regional Jail.

Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court released the following reports April 9:

* Jessica Lee Carpenter, 41, of 1705 Rayon Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of second-offense shoplifting and held on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Molly J. Nutter, 39, of 603 30th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of obstructing and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Troy Brett Shaffer, 41, of Parkersburg was arraigned on a charge of second-offense violation of a protective order and released on a $3,000 surety bond.

* Gina Nicole Hand, 48, of 413 Eighth St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of third-offense shoplifting and held on a $10,000 surety bond.

* Devin Lee Adkins, 29, of 134 Miller Drive, Apt. A, Ripley, was arraigned on a charge of nighttime burglary and held on a $30,000 surety bond.

* Bradley Hall Anderson, 27, of 1507 Avery St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of grand larceny and released on a $20,000 surety bond.

* Eric Christopher Edgar, 33, of 445 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering and held on a $30,000 surety bond.

* Ashley Nichole Davis, 30, of 35 Westview Way, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving under the influence and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Rick Anthony Scarffol, 24, of 1202 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of receiving stolen property and released on a $2,000 bond.

* Charles Purcell Bonesteel III, 24, of 1402 Andrew St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of destruction of property and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance.

* Catharine Worstell, 44, of 259 Hendershot Lane, Walker, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense DUI and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Jennifer Dawn Science, 45, of 127 Ohio 821, Marietta, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and fugitive from justice. Bond was set at $3,000 on the possession charge, but she was held without bond on the fugitive warrant.

* Carrie Renee Priest, 35, of 600 30th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and held on a $300,000 bond.

* Amy Lou Estep, 26, of 4037 Elizabeth Pike, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense DUI and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Quentin Christopher Carpenter, 18, of 14291 Staunton Turnpike, Walker, was arraigned on charges of first-offense DUI, controlled substance, and possession of marijuana, less than 15 grams, and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Trent Griffin O’Neal, 34, 5775, Null Road, Coolville, Ohio, had one count of domestic assault dismissed without prejudice. The alleged victim did not appear in court.

* Delbert W. Hall Jr., 34, 2311 Pike St. Lot 9, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to embezzlement, placed on six months of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay fines and restitutions of $356.05.

* James Thomas Hendershot, 34, 3624 Liberty St., Parkersburg, had a charge dismissed of violating a order that prohibits stalking or harassment.

* Brandon M. Backus, 33, 2102 9th Ave., Parkersburg, had a charge of unlawful entry to or destruction of property. He paid restitution and the owner no longer wished to prosecute.

* Lindsay Nichole Dye, 31, 2105 Wolfe Run Road, Rockport, had a charge of third-offense driving on a suspended license dismissed.

* Travis Lee Cain, 38, 936 Marrtown Road, Parkersburg, had a charge of violation of a protective order dismissed. The alleged victim failed to show up in court.

* Paul Matthew Bailey, 19, 2525 Lenore St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to assault, placed on one year of unsupervised probation and fined $210.25. Two other charges of assault were dismissed.

* Chancellor Michael Postlewaite, 309 West 5th St., had a charge of brandishing dismissed without prejustice. The alleged victim failed to show up in court.

* Tiffany Allen Wherry, 25, 900 Elder St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to fraudulent disposition of personal property under lease, placed on one year of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $804.09 in fines and restitutions.

* Jeremy Daniel Hoit, 31, 1341 Market St., Parkersburg, was released on $2,000 bond for domestic battery.

* Renate S. Tripett, 28, 820 Lenore St., Parkersburg, was released on $500 bond for improper lane change, failure to yield, driving on a suspended license, having no proof of insurance, no child restraint, defective equipment and no seatbelt.

* Kayla D. Scadden, 27, 16E Lubeck Hills Drive, Washington, had a charge of possession of a controlled substance dismissed and ordered to pay $170.25 in court costs.

* Jerome Thomas Cassey Jr., 44, 202 Marie Lane, Washington, had a charge of possession of a controlled substance dismissed and ordered to pay $170.25 in court costs.

* Larry D. Hooker, 39, 2503 Beverly St. Apt. 4E, Parkersburg, waived a preliminary hearing for distribution and display to a minor of obscene material. The case was bound over to the Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Charles Joseph Richards, 43, 1709 23rd St., Parkersburg, was released on $500 bond for driving on a revoked license for DUI, driving on a suspended license, defective equipment and expired registration.

* Staci Lavon Jones, 29, 712 Brush Run Road, Pennsboro, was released on $500 bond for possession of a controlled substance (meth).
