* Brian Michael Peters, 33, of 173 Killdeer Lane, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned on a charge of third-offense driving on a license revoked for DUI and held on a $10,000 bond.

* Nickolas Paul Artherhults, 30, of 2810 26th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of false pretense and fraudulent use of an access device and held on a $30,000 bond.

* Blake M. Keel, 26, of 1666 School House Road, Little Hocking, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, heroin and methamphetamine, with intent to deliver and held on a $100,000 bond.

* Harold William Tanner Jr., 58, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Moriah Shears, 37, of 710 N. Dry Run Road, Williamstown, was arraigned on a charge of truancy and released on a $200 personal recognizance bond.

* Jerome Thomas Casey Jr., 44, of 202 Marie Lane, Washington, was arraigned on charges of driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous, no insurance, possession of a controlled substance (meth), driving on a license revoked for DUI and failure to obey a stop sign and released on a $1,500 bond.

* Terry Everett Ramsey, 32, of 4602 Ninth Ave., Vienna, pleaded guilty to driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court costs.

* Charles Jonathan Arnold, 26, of 1100 12th St., Apt. 1, Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of filing a false report and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Glenver Eugene Gandee, 68, of 1226 16th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two worthless check charges and one count of obstructing and released on a $1,400 bond.

* Christopher L. Nelson, 42, of 1103 18th St., Apt. E3, Vienna, was arraigned on charges of second-offense driving on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance and failure to dim lights and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Tracy L. Hill, 39, of 2558 Loomis Ridge Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled susbtance, meth and heroin, and one count of driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Lisa Yvette Taylor, 31, of Route 2, Box 242, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, clonazepam and less than 15 grams of marijuana, and one count of shoplifting, less than $500, and was released on a $2,250 bond.

* Anya Cheanea Life, 26, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* John D. Ragalyi, 31, of 370 Danas Run Road, Newport, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, heroin, and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Melendez Ludwin, 26, of 651 Flower Fields Lane, Orlando, Fla., was arraigned on charges of DUI, driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous, obstructing and failure to render information and released on a $4,100 bond.

* Brienna D. Wills, 21, of 2024 17th St., Apt. 11, Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, heroin and meth, and released on a $1,000 bond.

* Joshua M. McGee, 34, of 718 Eighth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on three counts of transferring/receiving stolen property and one count of prohibited person in possession of a firearm and held on a $7,500 bond.

* William Matthew Oldaker, 44, of 910 Neal St., Apt. B, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and released on a $1,500 bond.

* Landry Bryden Smith, 32, of 777 DeVaughn Road, Walker, was arraigned on charges of driving on a license revoked for DUI and fraudulent motor vehicle inspection and was released on a $1,000 bond.

* Christopher Lee Johnson, 27, of 21 Thaxton St., Ravenswood, was arraigned on a DUI charge and released on a $2,500 bond.

* Mark J. Brown, 39, 1205 Mary St., Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to a no seat belt citation and was assessed a $25 fine.

* Alex Gregory Smith, 21, 1602 17th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of first-offense DUI, no insurance and driving on a suspended or revoked license and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond with 10 percent cash.

* David Edward Whitlock, 55, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense domestic battery and was released on a $1,500 bond.

* Andrew James Caplinger, 24, 2201 Beverly St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of false pretenses, was sentenced to 60 days in jail suspended for one year unsupervised probation and the day report center and follow their recommendation and was assessed $165.25 in fines and court fees.

* Mark Edward Leeson, 58, 2307 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of third-offense DUI and was bound over to circuit court.

* Terry Everett Ramsey, 32, 182 Magnolia Ave., Clarksburg, pleaded guilty to charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license for miscellaneous reasons and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court fees.

* Christopher Allen Rowan, 30, 493 Sassafras Run Road, Weston, W.Va., waived preliminary hearings on charges of uttering and four counts of fraudulent use of an access device and was bound over to circuit court.

* Zacharia Jordan Claypool, 24, Washington, W.Va., pleaded guilty to a charge of battery, was sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended for six months unsupervised probation and was assessed $185.25 in court fees.

* Paul Dexter Naylor, 57, Waverly, was acquitted of a charge of violation of a second-offense protective order.

* Zachary Alexander Thompson, 22, 408 Cross Road, Belpre, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-offense DUI, was sentenced to nine hours served and was assessed $360.25 in fines and court fees.

* Dennis Charles Crockett, 40, 108 Third St., Apt. A, Belpre, pleaded guilty to petit larceny, was sentenced to 60 days in jail suspended for one year unsupervised probation and was assessed $360.25 in fines and court fees.

* James Patrick Tibbs,55, 416 Eighth St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a public intoxication charge.

* Brandon Paul Lincoln, 31, 2707 Bird St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance, was sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended for one year unsupervised probation and was assessed $185.25 in fines and court fees.

* Creighton Jay Davis, 29, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of destruction of property and domestic battery and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Ryan Crete Yeager, 27, 2609 Progress Ridge Road, Walker, was released after no probable cause was found for a grand larceny charge.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Jan. 22:

* On Jan. 19, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a window being broken in a vehicle in Coolville. Deputies met with the complainant and took pictures of the damage. No items were taken from the vehicle as it was empty at the time. It is unknown what or whom could have busted the window.

* On Jan. 19, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was advised of numerous road signs on Marietta Run Road being spray painted. Photos of the signs were taken and a report was completed. This matter is under investigation.

* On Jan. 19, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that was following too closely and passed a vehicle on a double yellow line. Deputies determined that the driver also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear on a previous traffic offense. That subject was placed under arrest and transported to Athens Municipal Court for hearing on that warrant.

* On Jan. 19, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Mush Run Road for a report of a female at the residence receiving inappropriate text messages and photos via Facebook Messenger while on the school bus home. The messages were collected and placed in the case file and the female blocked the male so as to prevent further contact. This matter remains under investigation.

* On Jan. 19, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of theft in regard to the victim having her Ohio University Credit Union membership stolen as well as her driver’s license. The victim had documentation of the unauthorized use from the account. Case is under investigation.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office met with the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office at the county line to pick up 41-year-old Christopher McCoy. McCoy had been arrested on two active warrants out of Athens County. Once McCoy was picked up he was transported to SEORJ.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a resident of Old State Route 33, Shade, regarding a female friend that came to his residence on Jan. 19 asking to borrow money and use his phone. He stated she went outside to use the phone and left with the phone.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Big Bailey Road, Millfield, where a protection order was served on Jerry G. Smith. The protected person obtained their property and deputies cleared the residence.

* On Jan. 20. the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a workshop on Carr Road. The complainant reported hundreds of dollars’ worth of candles and other items missing. During the investigation a possible suspect was interviewed. During that interview the candles and a lamp were recovered. Charges will be sent to the Grand Jury.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Bean Hollow Road for a report of people shooting. The complainant advised that the bullets seemed to be coming past her house and sounded to be large caliber. Contact was made with the parties who were provided tips to ensure they were shooting in a safe manner.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Ayers Road, Albany for a report of a traffic accident there. The involved parties reported conflicting stories as to the events leading up to the accident but ultimately ran off the side of the road and through the fencing at Alexander School. The school district was notified, and Ohio State Highway Patrol took the crash report.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle in the city of Nelsonville driving with James K. Braglin seated in the passenger seat. Deputies knowing the male had an active warrant from Athens County Common Pleas Court, stopped the vehicle at the Public Square. Deputies made contact with Braglin, 45, of Nelsonville, and arrested him on the active warrant for theft by deception. Braglin was transported to South Eastern Ohio Region Jail without incident.

* On Jan. 20, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 East Fourth Street, The Plains for a report of an active dispute in the apartment complex. Once on scene it was found to be a domestic violence. EMS was requested due to injuries the victim sustained from the incident and was transported to OMH for said injuries. The suspect, Jamal Thompson, was arrested and transported to SEORJ on a charge of felony domestic violence.

* On Jan. 21, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lottridge Road in Guysville for an active dispute. The caller advised that a male subject was breaking things inside the residence and was acting unpredictable. Deputies arrived to find the male subject outside the residence. He advised that he had been in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend due to not being able to listen to music on her phone when he woke up. He stated there were no threats of violence. He did state that she hit him one time with a curtain rod. Deputies were not able to find any injury on him matching the level of physical violence described. The female subject corroborated the facts of the incident although claiming that nothing physical took place. The male subject advised that he wanted to leave the residence but did not have a ride. He also wanted to get his personal belongings from the residence due to his wish to not return. Deputies determined his residency was valid and allowed him to get his items of personal clothing. Deputies were met with resistance from the female subject who attempted to not let the male subject inside to collect those belongings. Deputies were able to accomplish the item collection with minimal issues. The male subject was transported to Federal Road and U.S. 50 at his request.

* On Jan. 21, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Webb Street in Doanville in reference to a dispute and suicide threat. Upon arrival all parties were given the opportunity to give their version of what took place. After speaking with everyone the visiting group was told not to return to the residence. The suicide threat was found to be an indirect threat made during the argument, so a blue slip was not completed.

* On Jan. 21, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 329 for a reported property damage report, caused by a juvenile. Deputies arrived on scene and were advised an 8-year old had cut a hole in a soft convertible top of a vehicle. Deputies documented such damage and spoke with the 8-year old in reference to the issue.

* On Jan. 21, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 550 for a report of criminal mischief of a vehicle. The back window was broken out of the vehicle with a large piece of sandstone which was located in the back seat of the vehicle. The complainant advised the suspect vehicle was a maroon Hyundai and the suspect is a female, unknown name. PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Police Department released the following reports Jan. 22:

* Delbert Hall, 35, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 19 on a third-offense shoplifting charge.

* Nickolas Artherhults, 30, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 19 on warrants for false pretenses and fraudulent use of an access device.

* John Ragalyi, 31, of Newport, was arrested Jan. 19 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

* Brieanna Will, 21, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 19 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

* Anya Life, 26, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 19 on a first-offense domestic battery charge.

* Shaun Crites, 38, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 20 on a capias for third-offense driving while suspended and no insurance.

* Brian Peters, 33, of Parkersburg, was arrested Jan. 20 on a charge of receiving/transferring stolen vehicle and a warrant for third-offense driving revoked for DUI.

* On Jan. 21, Douglas R. Cox, 51, 122 Main St., Belpre, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail. Cox was charged with criminal simulation for allegedly passing counterfeit bills at a local business.

* On Jan. 21, McKenzie L. Tewkesbury, 21, 521 Barclay St., Belpre, was cited for disorderly conduct by fighting.
