Missing Ohio man’s car found in Mountwood Park

PARKERSBURG — The car of a missing Ohio man was found in Mountwood Park last Friday, a release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office said.
The release said at approximately 12:40 p.m. sheriff deputies were dispatched to the Mountwood Park volleyball area regarding an abandoned vehicle which had been sitting in the park for several days. It said when deputies arrived, they observed a Blue Honda Accord with an Ohio registration plate.
The release said upon inquiry, it was discovered that the owner of the vehicle was identified as Chad Polen of 2923 Colony Wood Circle, Canton, Ohio. It said Polen had been reported missing to the Perry Township Police Department, Stark County, Ohio.
The Perry Township Police Department posted on their social media site that 48-year-old Polen was last seen on June 19 at approximately 6:22 a.m., walking away from his residence.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office said in its release that deputies, along with several area first responders, searched the area for two days with negative findings. It said the incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
