Parade participants
At least 13 students from Wood County are participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
Twelve are graduates of Parkersburg High School, Williamstown High School and Parkersburg South High School and in the West Virginia University Marching Band, while a current student at Williamstown is in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band, according to Jodie Nutter, the mother of a student in the WVU Marching Band.
The students from Parkersburg High are: Ethan Grose, trombone; James Campbell, trombone; Aaron Grose, trumpet; Brodi Wilson, trumpet; Joel Stephens, sax; Ethan Yetter, clarinet; Josiah Whisnant, tuba; and Cole McCormick, tuba.
From Parkersburg South are Cate Evans, piccolo, and Caleb Rowan, tuba.
Williamstown High graduates in the marching band at WVU are Sadie Enoch, clarinet, and Adam Hatcher, mellophone.
Marching in the Great American Marching Band is Williamstown High student Gabe Maceira on tuba.
The WVU Marching Band — the Pride of West Virginia, will be the lead band and in front of Santa Claus at the end of the parade. Eleven college bands are in the parade.
The Great American Marching Band is composed of high school students.
