WHEELING — A Wetzel County man pleaded guilty Monday to unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Moundsville Police arrested Talon D. Feucht, 30, of New Martinsville, in August 2023 on an outstanding warrant for a charge of entering without breaking in Marshall County, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia said.

During the arrest, Feucht admitted to having a firearm in his bag, and a search recovered a .38-caliber firearm and ammunition.

Feucht is prohibited from having firearms because of two prior felony theft convictions, the release said.

Feucht faces up to 15 years in prison at his sentencing, a date for which was not included in the release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Moundsville Police Department investigated. U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided.

Starting at $2.99/week.
