Mid-Ohio Valley General Election 2024: Some candidates running unopposed in final vote
PARKERSBURG — There are a number of county candidates who won their primaries and who are now unopposed in the general election.
Wood County Commissioner Blair Couch, Wood County Sheriff Rick Woodyard, Wood County Prosecutor Pat Lefebure, Wood County Surveyor Charles F. Hughes Jr. and Republican John Kelly who won the primary for Wood County Assessor will go mostly unchallenged in the general election unless there are write-in candidates or someone appointed to run by their party.
During the May primary, Kelly defeated Republican Andy Hartleben for the position of Wood County Assessor after Assessor David Nohe did not seek another term and ran for the Wood County Commission.
Couch beat out Republican challengers Roger Whited, Roger Conley and Nohe to retain his seat on the commission for a fourth term.
Republicans Lefebure, Woodyard and Hughes had no primary challengers and are not facing any opponents for their positions.
