Michael Azinger among latest Wood County election filings

CHARLESTON — An incumbent state Senator from Wood County has filed for re-election.

Sen. Michael Azinger, R-Wood, filed Jan. 14 with the West Virginia Secretary of State. He is facing a primary challenge from Delegate John Kelly, R-Wood.

With new single Delegate Districts drawn, Dylan Parsons of New Martinsville filed Jan. 13 to run for the new Delegate District 7 seat as a Mountain Party candidate. Democrat Lisa Zukoff of Moundsville has already filed to run for the seat.

Republican Scot Heckert of Parkersburg has filed for a seat in the new Delegate District 13.

Republican Morgan Hurlow of Mason filed Jan. 14 to run in the new Delegate District 17. Hurlow will be facing Republican Robert A. Marchal.

No new filings have been made for county offices with the Wood County Clerk.
