Man charged with sexual assault
SANDYVILLE — A Sandyville man was arrested last week on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old female.
Justin Lee Cutright, 32, 60 Delta Road, was taken into custody after a school principal in Washington County reported a student disclosed she had been sexually assaulted over New Year’s while visiting her mother in Jackson County, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Jackson County Magistrate Court.
According to the complaint, Cutright is the son of the victim’s mother’s boyfriend and she was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus where she spoke with a social worker and was referred to a child advocacy center.
During a forensic interview, the child said she had walked to Cutright’s residence from her mother’s house to play video games and after about five minutes of playing a game, she said Cutright raped her, the complaint said.
The victim said Cutright held her down on his bed, inappropriately touched her and had intercourse with her, according to the complaint.
Cutright is being charged with sexual abuse by parent, custodian or person in a position of trust and was being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $250,000 surety bond.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page said Cutright’s arrest was the result of an extensive investigation and search warrant of his residence.
“Cutright was on home confinement at the time and later transported to SCRJ pending bond. Lt. Todd Roberts led the investigative efforts and was aided by several others throughout the team effort,” the page said.
