A Teachable Moment

Fifth-grader Kelsey Cox, 10, prepares her Dash Robot to take a message from the main office at Lubeck Elementary School to a pre-programmed classroom in the building. On Thursday, issues with the school phone system also knocked out its intercoms and caused problems with getting messages to teachers. Librarian and media specialist Sonya Ashby challenged the students to come up with a solution. In response, students set out to program Dash Robots to deliver messages within the school. This gave the students the chance to test their code, while troubleshooting any hurdles they encountered. The students plan to continue to work on their programming in order to refine their messaging system. (Photo Provided)
