Officials demolish vacant Parkersburg home after fire

PARKERSBURG — A vacant house was demolished after catching fire Sunday morning.

The blaze at 914 15th St. was reported at 6:38 a.m. Sunday, according to Parkersburg Fire Chief Jason Matthews. A neighboring structure sustained some damage as well, firefighters said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation. The house was vacant, but homeless individuals had been staying there, firefighters said.
