Glenville State College golf teams receive vans

GLENVILLE — The golf team at Glenville State College will travel in style for the 2021 Mountain East Conference golf season.

Through a gift from I.L. “Ike” Morris, the team will drive in a pair of new state-of-the-art club vans, each with a logo for each golf program.

The Glenville men’s team has won 12 league championships in its history. It is coached by John Lilly, an alumnus of the program and a member of several title teams in the mid-1970s.

The women’s program was resurrected in 2019 and is coached by Mike McGarry. Coach Bill Lilly is an assistant to the programs as director of golf operations.

“We sincerely thank Mr. Morris for his gift to the golf program, and his continued support of the institution,” Athletic Director Jesse Skiles said. “We are very excited about the overall commitment to our golf programs, from both the school and also the community.”
