Jackson County health officials offer free virus tests

RIPLEY — The Jackson County Health Department will offer free COVID-19 drive through testing Friday Aug. 7 and Saturday Aug. 8.

The health department partnered with West Virginia Threat for Preparedness and West Virginia Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs to offer this free testing, according to a press release.

Insurance is not necessary or required but one must bring a valid photo I.D. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and bring a form of identification such as a school I.D. or birth certificate.

On Aug. 7, the testing will take place at Riverfront Park in Ravenswood and on Aug. 8, the testing will be at Cedar Lakes Conference Center Ripley. For both dates, the testing will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
