Wood County COVID cases continue rise
PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department announced multiple new positive COVID-19 results for the six-county area it covers over the weekend.
An additional 17 cases in Wood County brings the total number since March to 178. Two more were added in Wirt County, whose previous four cases have all been released from Health Department monitoring. Roane County added one positive case, bringing its total to 11.
The Health Department encourages individuals and businesses to heed West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s mandate to wear a mask indoors and to take precautions when traveling.
Those returning from trips are advised to get a COVID-19 test three to five days after returning home. This helps to prevent a false negative, according to the MOVHD.
