U.S. marshals to aid in search
PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Police Department has asked for the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service to aid in the apprehension of Farrell White, 47, 909 Wall St., Toledo, for a shooting on Liberty Street Friday afternoon.
According to Lt. Greg Collins with the Parkersburg Police Department, White is suspected, but not presumed, to be out of the area.
“We approach all investigations with the intention to solve them,” said Collins. “When someone comes in from out of the area and causes this kind of damage to our community, we will not only work hard to solve it, but will bring forth all the tools at our disposal to get them arrested, here or not.”
A warrant has been issued for White, on a charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm.
According to Collins, there is a chance more charges could be added after White is indicted.
Collins says White is considered to be armed and dangerous at this time.
According to the criminal complaint, White arrived to 656 Liberty St. Friday afternoon and “abruptly” entered the room where victim Ronald Taylor III was visiting with “acquaintances.”
White then opened fire on the victim at least three times, hitting him in the chest and forearm with what was described as a “chrome handgun,” the complaint says.
Taylor is recovering at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, according to Collins.
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon, but according to Collins, White is not the only suspect.
“We are continuing with our investigation as there are other suspects in this case,” he said.
