Nine indicted by Calhoun County grand jury

GRANTSVILLE — Nine defendants were indicted by the Calhoun County Grand Jury this month, including an Orma man charged with one count of child abuse resulting in injury.

Brian Lee Husk, 29, 2598 Meadows Run Road, Orma, was arrested last fall after he struck his 9-year-old son three times in the face and hit him with an empty pop bottle, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Calhoun County Circuit Court.

Law enforcement went to Arnoldsburg Elementary school to speak with the son, who said his dad hit him after he was aggravated with him not knowing math answers, the complaint said.

The son was seen with hand marks on his face, the complaint said.

Husk admitted to hitting his son and said he is too harsh when punishing his kids. He also said he sometimes blacks out and doesn’t remember what happens when he gets angry, the complaint said.

He also was indicted on charges of obstructing an officer, disruption of governmental processes and assault on a government representative.
