Man accused of raping 12-year-old Washington County girl

MARIETTA — A Kent, Ohio, man was charged Saturday with the rape of a 12-year-old girl at a location in Little Hocking, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.

Jordan Ross Dieffenbach, 23, 1366 Elizabeth Court, Kent, is accused of arranging on Instagram to meet the girl at the Little Hocking Elementary School, 95 Federal Road, the department said. The victim walked to the school with her 8-year-old sister and upon arrival met with the man male identified as Dieffenbach, the department said.

Dieffenbach gave the 8-year-old sister a $20 bill and told her to leave and not tell anyone, the department said. The 8-year-old sister ran home, which was nearby, and told her mother what was happening, the department said.

By the time the mother arrived at the school, the juvenile victim was exiting the vehicle carrying her underwear and shorts, the department said. The vehicle immediately left the parking lot, the department said.

Detectives spoke with the victim, who said she met Dieffenbach through Instagram and had made arrangements to meet him, the department said. The victim advised she told Dieffenbach during their conversation she was only 12-years old, the department said.

The victim said Dieffenbach took her pants off in the car and attempted a sex act.

The victim was taken to the hospital for an examination, the department said.

Her Instagram account was taken over by detectives who made contact with Dieffenbach, the department said. Dieffenbach said he enjoyed what happened earlier and asked when they could meet again, the department said.

Posing as the juvenile victim, detectives made arrangements to meet with Dieffenbach at the Little Hocking Elementary School, the department said.

When Dieffenbach arrived, he was arrested and taken into custody and charged with juvenile rape, a felony of the first degree, the department said.

He is being held in the Washington County Jail without bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
