Marietta Chamber announces grants
The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday announced the businesses receiving grants through the Member Business Relief Fund or pandemic relief.
The grants to qualifying member businesses are from the chamber’s Marietta Community Foundation Fund, which was established in 2007 from the sale of the Biszantz-Bosworth House. The house was the home of the chamber for two decades.
The initial deposit was $150,000 and the fund was established for economic development and business promotion activities in the Marietta area.
“The chamber Board of Directors felt it was extremely important to help small businesses in our community that are struggling during this pandemic,” said Kristopher Justice, chairman of the Board of Directors. “We hope that these grants help the recipients weather the storm and allow those businesses to begin to grow and prosper again.”
The chamber distributed $50,000 to about 30 local businesses. Funds are helping with payroll costs, utilities, product losses, incurred expenses or rent and mortgage payments.
The following companies are recipients of the grants: A Unique Flower and Gift Shop, Air Quality Solutions Heating and Cooling, All Pro Nutrition, American Flags and Poles, Betsey Mills Corp., Boley Enterprises, DaVinci’s Italian Restaurant, Ely Chapman Education Foundation, Event Designs, Green Acres of Marietta, Ketel1 TeamWear, Marietta Family YMCA, Marietta Occupational Health Partners, Mid-Ohio Valley Employment, O’Brien’s Confined Space Rescue Services, O’Brien’s Safety Services, Parkview House, Peace Love Scissors, Perry and Associates CPAs, A.C., Austyns, Quality Care Associates Urgent Care and Wellness Center, Residential Home for the Developmentally Disabled, Rockstar Wellness, Sincerely Yours Gift Shop, Vogue Swift and Wit and Whimzy.
“Weathering the storm is what we do. I am so proud to be a part of an organization that truly supports its members and is there and able to help in times of need,” Carrie Ankrom, chamber president and CEO, said.
Through COVID-19, MACC is still supporting local business in any way possible. For information about how the chamber can help, call the chamber at (740) 373-5176 or email email@example.com.
