Glenville State College recognizes Parkersburg native
GLENVILLE — A Parkersburg native has been named the Staff Employee of the Year at Glenville State College. Trae Sprague is director of residence life.
“When I heard my name called as the Staff Employee of the Year, I was surprised and very grateful,” he said. “It meant a lot to me to hear some of the comments made by staff, faculty and students.”
Sprague graduated from Parkersburg High School in 2007. He graduated from Glenville State with a bachelor’s of arts in education in physical education in 2012. In August of that year, he joined the Office of Admissions as an admissions counselor. He became the supervisor of student life and intramural sports within the Office of Student Life in 2016 and director of residence life in 2019.
In the nominations for the award, Sprague was called incredibly polite, a calming influence on students and his peers, and noted that he rarely shows distress or frustration during work.
