Washington County virus patient in hospital

MARIETTA — Richard Clark, M.D., Health Commissioner, Washington County Health Department, announced Sunday there is a Washington County resident with a positive test result for COVID-19.

“The individual is hospitalized and responding to treatment,” said Clark.

This case is in addition to the cases already reported by the Marietta/Belpre Health Department, bringing the total known cases in Washington County to three, including two hospitalizations.

Residents should continue good handwashing practices, 6-foot social distancing, and stay at home as much as possible.

“Public Health staff is working to identify all potential close contacts. Following contact, they will be quarantined and monitored by Public Health,” said Val Betkoski, Director o Nursing at Washington County Health Department.
