Lt. Rob Pifer retiring from Vienna Police Department

VIENNA — Lt. Rob Pifer with Vienna Police Department is set to retire Tuesday, after 25 years of serving the community.

In the past 25 years, Pifer has held the position of a patrolman, sergeant and lieutenant.

“It has been a very rewarding 25 years, being able to get out and serve the community in so many ways,” he said.

Pifer says his only plans for the near future will be to help mentor local Scouts, as his son is a Boy Scout.

“It was an honor to get to work professionally with my brother,” said Vienna Police Chief Mike Pifer. “He served the citizens of Vienna well over the course of his career and was very well liked by the staff at the police department.”

Rob Pifer will make his final lap down Grand Central Avenue at noon Tuesday.

Vienna Mayor Randy Rapp encourages those in the area to wave him off and thank him, from their homes while still maintaining social distances, as he drives Grand Central Avenue one last time as a city officer.
