Wood County students compete in Science Bowl

VIENNA — The Wood County Middle School Science Bowl was held on Saturday Nov. 2.

Four middle school teams competed in the tournament hosted and organized by Parkersburg High School.

Jackson Middle School had two teams (Team A and Team B), led by seventh and eighth grade math teacher Stephanie Shepard and seventh grade science teacher Joe Thompson.

Jackson Middle School Team A members Jackson Wharton (7th), Isabel Bhati (8th), Pallavi Sundaram (8th), Deric Marshall (7th) and Evan Miller (7th) won first place.

Jackson Middle School Team B members Maya Moellendick (8th), Sam Chichester (8th), Hunter Hall (7th) and Matthew Carter (7th) finished second.
