Artsbridge displaying McKown paintings

PARKERSBURG — The work by a local artist is on display at Artsbridge this month.

Erin McKown is an aspiring wildlife artist who specializes in traditional realism and was fascinated with nature and art at a young age. She spends much of her time in the woods, where she collects reference material for paintings and drawings.

Her work, characterized by vibrant colors and an emphasis on detail, is for sale.

McKown received a bachelor’s of arts in studio art from Fairmont State University. Her work has been accepted into numerous juried exhibitions across the state.

Her awards include the Dr. Ghassan Khalil Award from the Parkersburg Art Center’s Wild at Art exhibition , publication in the Division of Natural Resources 2017 West Virginia Wildlife Calendar, People’s Choice Award at the 2014 Best of West Virginia Juried Exhibition and Best of Show in 2014 and First Place in 2013 at the Randolph County Community Art Center’s annual juried shows.
