Sour Mash Open proceeds allocated

PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Rotary Club and the Wood County Rotary Club on Monday allocated the proceeds from the 2019 Sour Mash Open.

The 2019 golf tournament at the Parkersburg Country Club raised $54,200 that was allocated to 11 local non-profit organizations.

It was one of the highest amounts raised by the annual golf tournament, Parkersburg Rotary Chairman Jill Parsons said.

The proceeds were distributed Monday by John Fanta, Sour Mash chairman and Parkersburg Rotarian; Joe Bell of the Wood County Rotary and Andy Hartleben, president of the Parkersburg Rotary.

Recipients were WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Foundation, Circles Campaign of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Colonial House, Gabriel Project of the West Virginia/Northern Programs Chapter, the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, the Parkersburg Art Center, United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Voices of Children Foundation/CASA, Westbrook Health Services, Wood County Senior Citizens Association and the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg. The Boys and Girls Club was the charity of choice for the 2019 honoree, Mickey Welch, who died this summer.
