Wood BOE meets today

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Board of Education meets today to discuss the superintendent’s goals and to set dates for two Local School Improvement Council presentations.

The board meets at 6 p.m. at the district’s 13th and Plum streets offices in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public.

The board will recognize teachers from each grade level for student growth in the iReady reading program, the Wood County winners of the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair, book donations from Books a Million and will read a Governor’s Proclamation on School Service Personnel Day.

The board will receive an update from Superintendent Will Hosaflook and be asked to approve personnel changes and financial transactions.

The board also will vote on the superintendent’s goals for the coming year, approve LSIC presentation dates for Jefferson and Franklin elementary centers, and one employee suspension.
