Carnival cancels Homecoming show, bouncy houses, etc. planned

The company providing the carnival rides at the Parkersburg Homecoming that opens today has canceled, Woody Miller, Homecoming president, said.

The Homecoming was informed Thursday afternoon of the cancellation, he said. The company said it didn’t have enough staff to operate the rides, Miller said.

“Homecoming committee members have reached out and selected a childrens entertainment company to supply homecoming with children’sactivities, including bouncy houses, etc.,” he said in a press release. “That company, M&M Party Central LLC will be set up both Friday and Saturday.”

Childrens Fest scheduled for today will go on as planned, Miller said.

“We apologize for any inconvenience,” Miller said. “Sadly, we can’t control vendors not honoring their agreements, especially at such late notice.”
