Vienna man pleads guilty to sexual abuse

PARKERSBURG — Eric Marshall, 41, of 308 59th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Wood County Circuit Court to sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, count two of the indictment.

As part of the plea agreement, Marshall was dismissed on two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, six counts of sexual assault in the second degree, six other counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, two counts of incest and a count of distribution and exhibition of material depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, the abuse began when the victim was 9 years old and “had become a lifestyle since then.”

Marshall will be sentenced on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. by Wood County Circuit Court Judge Robert Waters.

Marshall is facing 10 to 20 years at the West Virginia Department of Corrections, a requirement to register as a sex offender and to be supervised upon release, said Prosecuting Attorney Pat Lefebure.
