RNC co-chair to attend W.Va. event

CHARLESTON — The co-chairman of the Republican National Committee will attend the West Virginia GOP summer meeting and donor leadership retreat in August, officials said on Thursday.

Attending will be Tommy Hicks, state Republican Party chairwoman Melody Potter said.

“Mr. Hicks is a tireless advocate for President Trump and Republicans across the country,” Potter said. “I am delighted for members of the Republican State Executive Committee and our guests to meet and hear from Mr. Hicks about the tremendous work being done at the RNC to re-elect President Trump and Republicans up and down the ballot in 2020.”

Hicks previously was the national finance co-chairman for President Trump’s 2016 campaign, vice chairman of the finance committee for the presidential inauguration and chairman of America First Action PAC and America First Policies. The national committee elected Hicks co-chairman in January.

“I am thrilled to join activists and supporters in the Mountain State. West Virginia will play an important role in 2020 and I look forward to helping deliver the state once again for President Donald Trump,” Hicks said.

The retreat and summer meeting will be held Aug. 23-24 at The Greenbrier Resort, which is owned by Gov. Jim Justice.
