PARKERSBURG — A fire broke out around 12:52 p.m. Wednesday in a trailer at 2311 Pike St. in south Parkersburg.

The fire also damaged two adjacent trailers.

The trailers in the Thompson Trailer Park were vacant, Parkersburg Fire Chief Jason Matthews said.

Matthews said the owner of the lot was working on demolishing the trailers.

“Since all that was left of the trailer was studs (framework), there was plenty of ventilation, causing the fire to start up quickly,” Matthews said.

Matthews said the fire was out within 10 minutes and there were no injuries. A cause of the fire has not been determined.

Because the trailers were being demolished, no estimated damage amounts were recorded, Matthews said.
