Participants in the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation’s Civic Leaders Fellowship Program appeared before the Wood County Commission on Monday. Commissioners explained what the county commission does and its duties. The students, who are involved in the eighth year of the program, are college students who are interested in returning to the area. The program helps them make local connections. They also work at placements throughout the county that are related to their prospective career fields and they tour government offices and other community organizations. The students are attending West Virginia University, Marshall University, Fairmont State University, West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Ohio University.
